*D/of C.B. & Eliza P. New *This tombstone has to be wrong. Either her
year of birth or her parents are listed incorrectly. C.B, her father, was born in
1850; Eliza P. was born in 1851 according to their tombstone. Letty's year of
birth is given as on her tombstone as 1846. There is another Eliza P. New who was
born in 1813 which is most likely her mother . Evidently, there was another C.B. New,
who was the spouse of this Eliza P. New born in 1813.

*CARROLL GRAVE
JAMES CARROLL 12-26-1807 North Carolina to 12-12-1863
Union County, Arkansas. North west of Hwy. 15 south, from El Dorado. Carroll Cemetery, Union Co, AR
When my great-grandfather James Carroll died the
Confederate Army had taken all the mules and horses.
There was nothing to draw the wagon to take him to Hopewell
Cemetery where other relatives were interred.
That trip was more than 5 miles and he was a rotund man.
His adult sons were in the army. The women had his body
taken about 25 yards from the house and buried. There he lies alone.
