MINNIE L. CATES
Minnie L. Cates, 87, of Little Rock, died on Saturday, Jan. 19, 2008.
Born on March 16, 1920, in North Little Rock, she was the daughter of Murray and Ninnie Laughlin.
Mrs. Cates was a schoolteacher in El Dorado before retiring in LaMarque, Texas. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church.
Preceded in death by her parents, she is survived by two daughters, Betty Walsh of Malvern and Neva Callender of Redondo Beach, Calif.; one brother, Wallace Laughlin of Spring Lake, Minn.; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. on Tuesday in the chapel of Griffin Leggett Healey & Roth in Little Rock with the Rev. Stan Parrish officiating. Burial will be at 2 p.m. in Rest Haven Cemetery in El Dorado.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight at the funeral home.

LEE R. WARREN
Lee R. Warren, 60, of El Dorado, died on Saturday, Feb. 2, 2008, at his residence following a lengthy illness.
Born June 7, 1947, in Dubach, La., he was the son of Walter and Dollie Brazzel Warren. Mr. Warren had been employed in the oil field for many years and was a veteran of the U. S. Army, serving during the Vietnam War.
Preceding him in death were his parents; a daughter, Jennifer Warren; and a brother, Elton Warren.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn J. Warren of El Dorado; one son, Jeff Warren (Annmarie) of Athens, La., and one step-daughter, Kristy Langston (Ryan) of Huttig; two brothers, Ronnie Warren (Peggy) of Gonzales, La., and Bryan Warren of Goodlettsville, Tenn.; two sisters, Shirley Skipper (Joe) of Simsboro, La., and Dorothy Deason (Clyde) of Ruston, La. Also surviving are grandchildren Justin Warren of Athens, La., Katelyn Langston and Laney Langston, both of Huttig, and many nieces and nephews.
Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. on Monday in Arlington Cemetery in Homer, La., with Willie Daniel Dean officiating. Interment will be under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 tonight at Bailey Funeral Home.

DIANA K. GREEN
Funeral for Diana Kay Miller Green, 50, of El Dorado, will be at 1 p.m. today at Shady Grove Baptist Church in Jersey with the Rev. Wendell Miller officiating. Interment will be in Shady Grove Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Young's Funeral Directors.

J.T. Wear, 91, of Warren, died on Sunday, Jan. 20, 2008, at Wagnon Place Nursing Home.
Born on Dec. 5, 1916, in Bradley County, he was the son of William Newton Wear and Ida Baker Wear. He was a retired lumber grader for Potlatch Corp., and a member of Immanuel Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mary Ruth Turner Wear; a brother, Clyde Wear; and sisters Floy Steadan and Lummy Bartram.
There are no immediate survivors.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. on Wednesday in Frazer's Chapel. Burial will be in Hickory Springs Cemetery near Hermitage under the direction of Frazer's Funeral Home in Warren.

JAMES R. LANGSTON
James Russell Langston, 25, of El Dorado, died Sunday, Jan. 20, 2008, at his residence.
Born April 9, 1982, in El Dorado, he was an avid sportsman, excelling in baseball and enjoying hunting and music. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served honorably in Operation Iraqi Freedom, where he received several commendations, including the Meritorious Service Award. He was also a member of College Avenue Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, James and Dwana Jennings; paternal grandfather, James William Langston; and stepfather, Blake Hicks.
Survivors include his father and stepmother, James "Tinker" and Karen Langston of El Dorado; his mother, Leesha Langston Hicks of El Dorado; brothers, Chris Loggins of El Dorado, Jeremy Langston and his wife, Karen, of Morrilton, and Joseph Adam Langston of El Dorado; nephew, Avery Langston of Morrilton; paternal grandparents, Maggie and Robert Stanford of Harrisburg; and numerous aunts and uncles; and a host of friends.
Funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 23, at the College Avenue Church of Christ with Dr. Dan Williams and Bro. Kent Jobe officiating.
Interment will follow in Philadelphia Cemetery under the direction of Young's Funeral Directors.

JAMES R. ORREN
James Ray Orren, 79, of Lake Jackson, Texas, passed away Sunday, Jan. 20, 2008.
He was born June 28, 1928, in Homer, La., to John and Susie Orren. James was a resident of Lake Jackson for more than 40 years. He worked for Dow Chemical for 35 years. James was also a member of the Second Baptist Church of Lake Jackson. He was a beloved husband, father, brother and both a grandfather and a great-grandfather. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Survivors include his loving wife of 57 years, Modelle Orren; daughter, Sandra Hightower and her husband, Elton; three sons, Mike, Mark and Jeff Orren; four sisters, Betty Mason, Geraldine Ashworth, Linda Taweel and Carolyn Woodruff; brother, Lonnie Orren; beloved grandchildren, Lee, David, Nicole and Jackie Orren, and Ryan Hightower; great-grandchildren, Jordan Orren and Hunter Hightower; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 22, at Stroud Funeral Home in Clute, Texas, with Pastor Gary Thorton officiating.

VADA L. OUTLAW
Vada L. Outlaw, 92, of Warren, and formerly of Little Rock, died Sunday, Jan. 20, 2008, at Bradley County Medical Center.
The daughter of Ben Outlaw and Nancy Abigail Savage Outlaw, she was born June 3, 1915, in Bradley County. She was a retired executive secretary for Dyke Insurance with more than 50 years of service. She was a member of Quapaw United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Arthur Outlaw, and Milton Outlaw; and sisters, Mozelle Outlaw, Judy Varnell, Maggie Outlaw, Ruby Spraggins and Olivia Smith.
Survivors include one sister, Faye Lowry of Bryant.
A graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Outlaw Cemetery near Sumpter under the direction of Frazer's Funeral Home of Warren.
Visitation will be from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

MARGIE A. TAYLOR
Margie Alice Browning Taylor, a retired nurse and former resident of Smackover, died unexpectedly Jan. 19, 2008, at George Washington University Hospital in Washington D.C., from complications of a long-standing lung condition. She was 84 years old.
Mrs. Taylor was born in Springhill, La., the daughter of Savannah Ruth (Sears) Browning and Thomas Cleveland Browning. She was a graduate of Springhill High School.
During World War II, Mrs. Taylor was employed in the wartime industries in Beaumont, Texas. She also worked for a time as a beautician in Little Rock. She later moved to Smackover, where she lived most of her life with her husband of 47 years, Otha Taylor.
While in Arkansas, she was employed for many years as a Licensed Practical Nurse at Warner Brown Hospital in El Dorado., until her retirement. Mrs. Taylor was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Smackover, where she also taught Sunday School.
Mrs. Taylor enjoyed fishing and camping with her husband, family and friends and spent numerous weekends and vacations at DeGray Lake State Park and sites along the Ouachita River in Arkansas. She loved to travel, and in later years often went on cruises with friends to Alaska, Hawaii, the Caribbean and other destinations. An avid card player, Mrs. Taylor enjoyed canasta and other games, especially for the opportunity it afforded to socialize with friends and family.
Mrs. Taylor was the mother of Otha J. (O.J.) Taylor and Thomas Clyde Taylor. O. J. died in 1967 in an auto accident. Her husband died in 1991. A sister, Mittie (Browning) Matlock, and a brother, Cecil Browning also preceded her in death.
In 2005, Mrs. Taylor moved to Washington, D.C., with her niece Bobbie Purvis to be nearer her son. In Washington she made numerous friends at Golden Rule Plaza Apartments and the Residences at Thomas Circle, where she resided and often entertained her son and other guests for Sunday brunch.
In addition to her son, Thomas Clyde Taylor of Washington, D.C., Mrs. Taylor is survived by a grandchild, Tammie Upton of Smackover; four great grandchildren, Timothy, Jake, Logan, and Madeline; two nieces, Bobbie Purvis and Linda Matlock, both of Missouri City, Texas; and numerous great nieces and nephews
Family and friends will be received at Bailey Funeral Home of El Dorado, AR on Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m.
Funeral will be held at First Baptist Church in Smackover on Thursday, Jan. 24, 2008 at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Vaughn Blue officiating.
Interment will follow in Smackover Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home.

BRUCE BOYD
Bruce Allen Boyd, 60, of El Dorado, died Monday, Jan. 21, 2008, at Medical Center of South Arkansas.
He was born Jan. 22, 1947, in Magnolia, to Bill Boyd and Esther Hazel Long Boyd. He worked as a gauger for Cross Oil.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include a son, Billy Boyd and his wife, Brandi, of Parkers Chapel; two daughters, Becky Gross and her husband, Brian, of Parkers Chapel, and Tracy Goodwin and her husband, David, of Parkers Chapel; a brother, Larry Boyd and his wife, Beverly, of Magnolia; grandchildren, Logan and Lucas Boyd, Lauren and Scotty Gross, and Mason and Ryder Goodwin.

BESSIE G. FRANKS
Bessie Goodwin Franks, 86, of Flat Rock, N.C., died Saturday, Jan. 19, 2008.
She was born Oct. 8, 1921, in Farmerville, La., to Clarence Brooks and Viola Cole Brooks. She was a retired registered nurse for Drs. Sheppard and Seale and was a member of Second Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Isaac Goodwin; and her second husband, Donald Franks.
Survivors include her daughter, Kristie Ogletree and her husband, John Newton Ogletree, of Hendersonville, N.C.; two sisters, Reita Nolan of Farmerville, La., and Ernestine (Ernest) Perdue of Fort Arthur, Texas; and two grandsons, Spence Newton Ogletree and Hunter Goodwin Ogletree, both of Hendersonville.
A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, at Rehobeth Cemetery with the Rev. Bruce Murphy officiating and under the direction of Young's Funeral Directors.

Anjanette Frazier, 43, of Louann, died Sunday, Jan. 20, 2008, at Ouachita County Medical Center in Camden.
She was born Feb. 14, 1964, in Camden.
She was preceded in death by her father, Fay Elliott; a daughter, Andria Clardy; three sisters, June Elliott, Emma Jean Highsmith, and Jacqueline Elliott; and one brother, Jimmy Fay Elliott.
Survivors include her husband, Robert Frazier of Camden; two sons, Larkin Frazier and Cardero Frazier of El Dorado; her mother, Gunnie Elliott of Camden; three sisters, Bessie Elliott and Patsy Jackson of Detroit, and Veronica Renee Bush of Louann; and five brothers, Charles Elliott, Robert Taylor Elliott, and Terry Elliott of Louann, Larry Elliott of Little Rock, and Hugh Fogle of Camden.

James Michael Rose, 45, of Magnolia, died Saturday, Jan. 19, 2008, in Wadley Regional Medical Center in Texarkana, Texas.
Survivors include his wife, Gloria Ann Green Rose of Magnolia; two sons, James Lemar Rose and Roderick Rose Griffin, both of Magnolia; one daughter, LaToya Rose of Houston, Texas; parents, Joseph and Christine Salsberry of Magnolia; nine brothers, Johnny Ray Smith, Earnest Smith, Raymond Smith, Derrick Coley, Vincent Salsberry, Deontay Beal and Jonah Beal, all of Magnolia, Jerry Rose of Grandfork, N.D., and Hosia Rose of Cedar Hill, Texas; and two sisters, Joyce Glover and Natasia Beal, both of Magnolia.

TIMOTHY D. CLANTON
Timothy Dale Clanton, 54, of Warren, died Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2008, at Bradley County Medical Center.
The son of Wayne A. Clanton and Ora King Clanton, he was born Feb. 18, 1953, in Bradley County. He graduated from J.J. Pearce High School in Dallas in 1971, and attended the University of Arkansas at Monticello. He served as an apprentice with the boilermakers and joined the U.S. Army in 1985. He was stationed and graduated from Fort Ben Harrison as a computer programmer in 1986. After discharge from the army, he moved to Arkansas and worked as a boilermaker.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Jennifer Diane Clanton.
Survivors include his parents; a son, Richard Clanton; two grandchildren; a sister, Dr. Cathy Clanton Reeves of Bowling Green, Ky.; and two brothers, David A. Clanton and Mark A. Clanton of Warren.
Funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Frazer's Chapel in Warren. Burial will be in Union Hill Cemetery under the direction of Frazer's Funeral Home of Warren.

EDDIE C. GLOVER
Eddie C. Glover, 70, of El Dorado, died Saturday, Jan. 19, 2008, at his residence.
The son of the Rev. Edward L. and Effie Tee Hicks Glover, he was born Oct. 4, 1937, in El Dorado. He was a member of Zion Watch Baptist Church, where he served as deacon, deacon chairman, brotherhood, president, and vice-president of the senior citizen ministries, and he also served as a mason. He sang in the male choir and with the Mighty Gospel Voices for many years. He graduated form Washington High School and worked as a truck driver for Lion Oil Refinery until his retirement.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Jennie Bee Glover; a brother, Cleo Glover; and a sister, Annie B. Ford.
Survivors include three sons, Clifford Glover, Ricky Glover and Calvin Glover, all of El Dorado; five daughters, Bobbie Seals of Texarkana, Texas, Linda Thomas, Janet Bankston, Vicky Miller, and Lakesha Glover, all of El Dorado; two brothers, the Rev. Otis Glover of Richmond, Calif., and Robert Glover of El Dorado; two sisters, Ruth Simon of Portland, Ore., and Johnnie Mae McMurran of Oakland, Calif.; 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Zion Watch Baptist Church with the Rev. D.R. Dredd officiating. Burial will be in Zion Watch Cemetery under the direction of Sims Mortuary.

A. WESLEY MILLER
A. Wesley "Wes" Miller, 94, a resident of Hudson Memorial Nursing Home, El Dorado, died Monday Jan. 21, 2008, at Medical Center of South Arkansas due to cardiac arrest following emergency abdominal surgery.
Born on Nov. 6, 1913, in Brooklyn, Long Island, N.Y., he was the son of Albert J. Miller and Margaret Van Brunt.
He married Lois Elizabeth Platt in 1941; she was the mother of his three sons. A decade after the death of Lois in 1975, he married Marguerite Jones Smith, who died in 2006.
Survivors include his brother, Rutger Miller of Wanatchee, Wash.; and three sons, David W. Miller of El Dorado and his wife, Brenda, Robert A. Miller of Walkersville, Md., and his wife, Susie, and Larry A. Miller of Middletown, Md., and his wife, Pattie; five grandchildren, Jennifer C. Floumoy, Christopher W. Miller, Rebecca E. Miller, Alex Miller, and Stephen Miller; step-grandson, Brandon Key; former daughter-in-law, Wanda Miller; and seven great-grandchildren, Emily, Abigail, Davec, Jason, Kaden, Luke and Tyler.
Wes served his country during World War II from 1941-1944 as a member of the U.S. Navy. Not long after his military service, he joined IBM as an accountant and rose to the position of comptroller of South America, during which time he lived three years in Peru and three years in Uruguay, although most of his working years were lived on Long Island.
He was an active member of Bellerose Baptist Church from the 1930's until sometime in 1982, when he moved to El Dorado. His primary area of service to the church was as treasurer. He also had the gift of giving, as he contributed to many Christian mission organizations.
Throughout his younger life he seized every opportunity to learn the trade of various builders and contractors in plumbing, electrical and carpentry. This enabled him to use those talents in both building and remodeling homes for all three of his sons. He was the very definition of "do-it-yourself," taking special enjoyment in being able to restore anything broken.
A memorial service, following cremation, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, in the Chapel of First Baptist Church. The family will receive visitors immediately following the service.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Hudson Nursing Home and Dr. Ruxandra Jadic and the staff in ICU at MCSA for their care and special attention.

Ruby Lee Goodwin Wallace, 82, of El Dorado, died Thursday, Jan. 24, 2008, at Medical Center of South Arkansas.
Born Jan. 2, 1926, in Norphlet, she was the daughter of Willie Walker Goodwin Sr. and Ruby Pearl Roberts Goodwin. She was a homemaker and a Baptist. She also enjoyed camping with Good Sams, fishing and loved all types of animals.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Skipper and Lelas Goodwin; and sisters, Mayme Ruth Milford, Floy Elizabeth Holt and Margaret Pamelia Williams.
Survivors include her husband of 66 years, John T. Wallace; son, Tommy Wallace and his wife, Judy, of Magnolia; two daughters, Phyllis Clawson and her husband, Marion, of Calion, and Kathleen Kazanovicz and her husband, Ed, of El Dorado; three brothers, Jack Willard Goodwin, Bill Goodwin and Hugh Goodwin, all of El Dorado; 10 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

ROBERT E. WEAVER
Robert E. Weaver, 77, of Fayetteville, died Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2008, in Springdale.
He was born Aug. 10, 1930, in Little Rock, to Wilbur F. and Ruby (Caulder) Weaver. He was the former station manager of KTVE television station in El Dorado, and presently was a greeter for Wal-Mart. He was very active in the Boy Scouts, as well as a member of First Baptist Church in Springdale. He was a U.S. Army Veteran.
His son, Richard B. Weaver, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, M. Evelyn Weaver; one son, Mark S. Weaver of Fort Smith; two daughters; Cynthia W. House of Rogers, and Kristin D. Tinsley of Hindsville; seven grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in the chapel of Nelson-Berna Funeral Home in Fayetteville with the Revs. Mark Weaver, Doug Sarver, and Newton Cannon officiating.

PATRICIA GRIFFIN
Patricia Griffin, 68, of Lewisville, died Thursday, Jan. 24, 2008, at St. Michael Hospital in Texarkana, Texas.
She was born Jan. 15, 1940, in Hope, and was a homemaker.

Lelah Barnard Morris, 94, of Warren, died Thursday, Jan. 24, 2008, at Bradley County Medical Center.
Born June 30, 1913, in Independence, Kan., she was the daughter of Merwyn Gordan Barnard and Vera Simmons Barnard. A retired booker for Greyhound Bus Lines, she was a former worthy matron of the Warren Order of Eastern Star Chapter 3 and was a former Bradley County Woman of the Year. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Warren, where she taught Sunday School and was the director of the Women's Missionary Union for many years.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Curtis Morris.

She was born on July 18, 1913, in Pansy, the daughter of Govan and Irene Vinson Harper. She was a housewife, homemaker and a lifelong resident of Pansy, being the oldest member of Prosperity United Methodist Church.

RADIE L. HARBOUR
Radie Lerue Harbour, 76, of El Dorado, died on Saturday, Jan. 26, 2008 at his residence following a brief illness.
Born on Dec. 11, 1931, in El Dorado, he was the son of Claude and Austa Sanders Harbour. Mr. Harbour was a retired veteran of 21 years in the U.S. Navy, serving in Korea and Vietnam. He helped to maintain the security of the nation during a critical time in its history with a devotion to duty and spirit of sacrifice in keeping with the proud tradition of the military service.
During his service he was the recipient of the Presidential Unit Citation, Bronze Star Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal and the Vietnam Service Medal. He was of the Baptist Faith.
Preceding him in death along with his parents was a brother, Chester Ray Harbour.
Survivors include his wife, Dovie Harbour of El Dorado; one son, Steven L. Harbour (Donna) of Hot Springs, and a stepson, Warner Carlyle (Billie Jean) of El Dorado. Also surviving is one granddaughter, Sarah Wood, and one great-grandson, Zachary Wood, both of Sheridan.
Graveside service wil be at 2 p.m. on Tuesday in Salem Cemetery near Bearden with the Revs. Billy Joe Evans and Sidney McGraw officiating. Interment will be under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home.

She was born on April 11, 1916, in Memphis. She was a lifelong member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in El Dorado, and a communicant at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Memphis.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Harry Parish; and her parents, Guido Spiotta and Mary Grillo Spiotta.
Survivors include two sons, Robert Parish of Houston, and Johnny Parish of Fleetwood, Penn.; one daughter, Elaine Parish of Memphis; one brother, Dr. Eugene Spiotta Sr. of Memphis; one sister, Yolanda Coco, of Hot Springs; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Ira "Skipper" Fautheree Jr., 39, of Piggott, died Jan. 27, 2008.
The son of Ira and Betty Ardoin Fautheree, he was born Jan. 17, 1969, in Baton Rouge, La.
Survivors include his parents, of Piggott; twin sons, Trey and Troy; a daughter, Kayla Fautheree of Illinois; and his sister, Yolanda Hatten of Mississippi.

James Willis Robinson, 49, of Waldo, died Jan. 24, 2008, at his home.
Survivors include his son, Michael Robinson of Waldo; four brothers, Donald Robinson of Magnolia, Tim Robinson and Willie Robinson, both of Waldo, and Johnny Ray Robinson of Glendale, Calif.; four sisters, Peggy Ann Robinson and Patricia Robinson, both of Waldo, Sharon Robinson of Texarkana, and Billie Wills of Ann Arbor, Mich.
Funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Westside Church of Christ in Waldo with Bro. Jeffers Jefferson officiating. Burial will be at 3:30 p.m. in Kendrick Chapel Cemetery in Willisville under the direction of Henderson's Funeral Service of Magnolia.
Visitation will be held from noon until 5 p.m. today at Henderson's Mortuary in Magnolia.

LOUISE HARGETT
Louise Hargett, 84, died Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2008, at Gulfport Memorial Hospital.

JULIA L. SLAYTON
Julia Lucille Slayton, 94, of El Dorado, died Friday, Feb. 1, 2008, at Hudson Memorial Nursing Home following a brief illness.
Born Dec. 5, 1913, in Clark County, she was the daughter of Jesse Ross and Laura Alice Logan Carter.
She was a homemaker and a member of Immanuel Baptist Church. She was a member of the WMU and was involved in the Lottie Moon program at Immanuel.
Preceding her in death, along with her parents, was her husband, Jack E. Slayton.
Survivors include two daughters, Linda McCroskey (Otis) and Shirl Barksdale; and one son, Jack C. Slayton (Donna), all of El Dorado. Also surviving are two brothers, Ross Carter of El Dorado and Ray Carter of Texarkana; along with six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday at South Fork Cemetery near Gurdon with the Rev. Steve Carter officiating. Interment will be under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.

BARBARA K. AUTREY
Barbara Kirk Autrey, 61, of Magnolia, died on Friday, Feb. 1, 2008, at her home.
She was born on Nov. 16, 1946, in Magnolia, was a homemaker and a Baptist.
She was preceded in death by her father, Willie "Bill" Kirk.
She is survived by her husband, Charles "Gene" Autrey; her son, Kirk Autrey; mother, Grace Kirk all of Magnolia; one sister, Billie Briggs of Van Vleck, Texas; three brothers, Johnny Kirk of Magnolia, Tommy Kirk of Dubberly, La., Larry Kirk and wife, Nancy, of Carrollton, Texas.
Funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. on Monday in Lewis Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Eric Goble officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Lewis Funeral Home in Magnolia.
Family visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.

REBECCA E. BENNETT
Rebecca E. Bennett, 89, of El Dorado died on Thursday, Jan. 31, 2008, at Hillsboro Manor after a lengthy illness.
She was born on Sept. 26, 1918, in Lexington, Tenn., the daughter of William Carl Edwards and Stella Stewart Edwards. Mrs. Bennett was a member of First Presbyterian Church in El Dorado.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 36 years, Bruce C. Bennett; her parents; two sisters, Ada Barry of Little Rock and Elizabeth Lambert of Longmont, Colo.; and her brother, Carl Edwards of Pine Bluff.
Survivors include her daughter, Susan L. Madsen of Stuttgart and her son, James B. Bennett (Lisa) of El Dorado, and her sister-in-law, Barbara Bennett Buckalew, also of El Dorado.
She was known as "Nanny" to her seven grandchildren: Seth, Sally and Sam Bennett of El Dorado, Bruce Madsen (Leslie) of Humphrey, Michael Madsen (Kim) of Hernando, Miss., Leslie Brewer (Bryan) and Jennifer Bueker (Kirk), all of Stuttgart; as well as nine great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and their spouses.
Mrs. Bennett grew up enjoying the outdoors in Hot Springs, graduated from Hot Springs High School and went to work immediately for the telephone company. After marrying, Mrs. Bennett was an active member of First Presbyterian Church in El Dorado, served as a bible study leader, Sunday school teacher, a member of the choir and served with the Women of the Church as well as several other committees. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (Robert Rosamond Chapter), El Dorado Musical Coterie, the YWCA and was a devoted legal secretary to her late husband, her son-in-law, Carl J. Madsen, and her son, Jim.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. on Monday at First Presbyterian Church in El Dorado with Dr. Dan Loomis officiating. Interment will be in Arlington Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Young's Funeral Home in El Dorado.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. today at the funeral home.

SARAH A. CALLAWAY
Sarah died at peace in her home, as per her wishes, on Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2008.
Graveside service will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 9, in Woodlawn Cemetery in El Dorado.
The family requests memorials be made to Vitas Hospice, 2501 Parkview Drive, Suite 600, Fort Worth, TX 76102; or a charity of choice.
Sarah was born July 18, 1923, in El Dorado to Nancy and Wharton Swilley.
After graduating with a bachelor's degree from the University of Arkansas, she married Henry Callaway and they had four children. The family moved several times for Henry's career in the oil and gas industry, eventually settling in Midland, Texas.
Sarah raised and nurtured her family, finding time to help with PTA, girl scouts and cub scouts, school, music lessons and sports. She was well-known for her drawer full of snacks. She took particular pride and satisfaction from her work on the board of directors for High Sky Girls Ranch. She led an active social life, was a member of the Petroleum Club and Racquet Club, and enjoyed the company of many good friends. She spent numerous happy hours playing bridge, grew beautiful irises and painted china for her daughters.
In 2003, Sarah moved to Fort Worth, Texas, to be closer to her family and enjoy all three generations.
They are grateful to Betty Gould, her caregivers, and the hospice group for their compassion and kindness.
Sarah was preceded in death by her husband, Henry, in 1999; and her son, Fred, in 2004.
We will all miss her.
Survivors include her daughters, Nan Peacock and husband, James, Julia Callaway and husband, Joe Madden; son Charles Callaway and wife, Kathy; grandchildren Chris Peacock and wife, Stacey, Jessica Peacock Liberto and husband, Chad, Clayton Callaway and wife, Catherine, and Blake Callaway; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Dodie Vestal; and a brother, John Wharton Swilley.

JAMES E. FOGG
James Eugene "Gene" Fogg, a resident of Dothan, Ala., died on Friday, Feb. 1, 2008, at Southeast Alabama Medical Center. He was 81.
Memorial service will be at 2 p.m. on Tuesday at First Baptist Church with Dr. Johnny Fain and the Rev. Bob Gross officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 1 until 1:45 p.m. Tuesday prior to service. Memorials may be sent to First Baptist Church Building Fund, 300 West Main St., Dothan, AL 36303.
Mr. Fogg was born Oct. 2, 1926, in Lacombe, La., where he lived his early life. After graduating from high school, he entered the U.S. Navy and served in the South Pacific Theater during World War II. Following his military discharge, he attended Southwestern Business School and was employed as safety director for Murphy Oil Co. for several years. In 1970 he and his family moved to Dothan and he became self-employed with Murphy Oil and later with Exxon Oil Co. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Dothan.
Mr. Fogg was preceded in death by his parents, Sarah Todd Fogg and Forrest Eugene Fogg, and by a sister, Kathleen Fogg Wall.
He is survived by his loving family, his wife of 58 years, Lynnie Jean Fogg; two daughters and sons-in-law, Sandy and Jerry Hilyard of El Dorado and Lynnette and Gerald Hannahs of Little Rock; four granddaughters, Jennifer Mitchell and her husband, Marcus, of El Dorado, Jessica Hilyard of Charleston, S.C., and Blake and Madison Hannahs of Little Rock; one grandson, Dusty Hannahs of Little Rock; a great-grandson, Hutton Mitchell of El Dorado; one sister, Christine Serie, Slidell, La.; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; several nieces, nephews and other family members.
Gene will always be fondly remembered by his love for his church golf group and his family, who endured many years of tall "true" tales, card tricks and funny stories.

JERRY HANSEN
Jerry Hansen, 72, of El Dorado, died on Friday, Feb. 1, 2008, at Medical Center of South Arkansas.
Born May 12, 1935, in El Dorado, he was the son of George Sampson Hansen and Cecil Maude Woolsey Hansen. He was a retired supervisor for JAYCO, who was dedicated to his men; loved to golf and was a member of Pine Hills Men's Golf Association; enjoyed working in his yard; was a U. S. Navy veteran of the Korean War; and was a member of Grace Christian Center.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Wilma C. Hansen; a brother, Clarence Hansen; and a sister, Mary C. Beck.
Survivors include one son, Robby Hansen and his wife, Cindy, of El Dorado; a daughter, Dina Jo Jester and her husband, Donnie, of Sevierville, Tenn.; one brother, C. F. Hansen of Norphlet; six grandchildren, Kristen and Matt Hansen, and Michael, Jeremy, Angela and Ashley Jester; and a host nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. on Monday at Grace Christian Center with the Rev. Buzzy Sutherlin officiating. Interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park under the direction of Young's Funeral Directors in El Dorado.

Judy Nell Hart, 51, of El Dorado died on Friday, Feb. 1, 2008, at Life Touch Hospice House.
She was born on Jan. 15, 1957, in El Dorado to Charlie and Berdell Fletcher Slaughter. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.
Preceding her in death were her parents; a brother, Frank Norwood Slaughter; and a sister, Marilyn Hartridge.
Survivors include the love of her life, Richard Hart; daughters Mary Ann Woolsey Thompson and husband, Jeremy, of El Dorado, Rachelle Rose Burch and husband, Joseph, of El Dorado; grandchildren Abigail Thompson, John and Samantha Burch; brothers James Elton Slaughter of El Dorado, Charles Wesley Slaughter and wife, Bodwin, of El Dorado, and Ted B. Slaughter of Houston; sisters Mary S. Hartridge and husband, James, of El Dorado and Betty S. Stokes and husband, Van, of Junction City; and numerous nieces and nephews.

MINNIE HENDERSON
Minnie Henderson, 91, of Junction City, La., died on Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2008, at Hudson Memorial Nursing Home in El Dorado.
Survivors are her son, Sam Henderson of San Antonio, Texas; a daughter, Mattie Hayes of Junction City, La; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. on Wednesday at St. John Baptist Church in Lillie, La. Burial will be in St. John Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Henderson's Funeral Service in Magnolia.
Visitation will be from noon to 5 p.m. on Tuesday and from 1 p.m. until service time Wednesday at the funeral home.

BETTY MOONEY
Betty Mooney, 74, of Magnolia, passed away on Friday, Feb. 1, 2008, in Tyler, Texas.
She was born on March 14, 1933, in Eagle Lake, Texas, the daughter of Raleigh Edward and Nida Marie (Buffington) Beane. Betty lived in Magnolia for over 30 years.
She is loved and admired by friends and neighbors for her spirit of caring and helping. She didn't talk about work ethic or family values, she just lived them. She helped customers with their water bills for over 20 years at the Magnolia Water System, where she was a bookkeeper. Behind the counter at Lawhon's she often whistled softly like she did when she was cooking a meal for her family. She enjoyed listening to the birds singing in the morning while she had a cup of coffee. Then she would be busy taking a meal to a neighbor or driving a friend to an appointment ... and smiling the Lord said, "Welcome home my good and faithful servant."
She was preceded in death by her husband, E.L. Mooney; a son, Frank Mooney; a daughter, Nell Marie Mooney; and three brothers.
She is survived by her two sons, Ed Mooney of Tyler, Texas, and Jim Mooney and wife, Lucy, of El Dorado; three daughters, Carla Mooney of Galveston, Texas, Anne Mooney of Temple, Texas, and Jeanne Rothell and husband, Jack, of Keithsville, La.; three sisters, Francis Alford and Evelyn Durham, both of Pasenda, Texas, and Lois Alexander of San Antonio, Texas; 15 grandchildren, and nine grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. on Monday in Lewis Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Leland Callaway officiating. Burial will be in Mount Pisgah Cemetery under the direction of Lewis Funeral Home in Magnolia.

MARION J. OLIVER
Marion Jeanette Oliver, 77, of Hampton, died on Saturday, Feb. 2, 2008, at Hudson Memorial Nursing Home in El Dorado.
Mrs. Oliver was born on Feb. 23, 1930, in Waterloo, the daughter of Clifton Henry and Ruby Wade Lowry. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Hampton.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Wade and Norman Lowry; and four sisters, Margaret Almond, Lorraine Wilkerson, Carol Lowry and Jane Ozment. Survivors include her husband, Thomas H. "Woody" Oliver of Hampton; two sons, Ricky Oliver and wife, Wanda, of Ozark, Mo., and Tony Oliver of Hampton; a daughter, Kathy Jackson of El Dorado; three sisters, Wanda Pedron of Stephens, Patsy Cauldwell and husband, Billy, of Stephens, and Nadine Hooker and husband, David, of North Little Rock; four grandchildren, Jason and Brittney Oliver, both of Houston, Texas, and Colton and Andrea Oliver, both of Hampton; four stepgrandchildren and four stepgreat-grandchildren.

LEE R. WARREN
Lee R. Warren, 60, of El Dorado, died on Saturday, Feb. 2, 2008, at his residence following a lengthy illness.
Born June 7, 1947, in Dubach, La., he was the son of Walter and Dollie Brazzel Warren. Mr. Warren had been employed in the oil field for many years and was a veteran of the U. S. Army, serving during the Vietnam War.
Preceding him in death were his parents; a daughter, Jennifer Warren; and a brother, Elton Warren.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn J. Warren of El Dorado; one son, Jeff Warren (Annmarie) of Athens, La., and one step-daughter, Kristy Langston (Ryan) of Huttig; two brothers, Ronnie Warren (Peggy) of Gonzales, La., and Bryan Warren of Goodlettsville, Tenn.; two sisters, Shirley Skipper (Joe) of Simsboro, La., and Dorothy Deason (Clyde) of Ruston, La. Also surviving are grandchildren Justin Warren of Athens, La., Katelyn Langston and Laney Langston, both of Huttig, and many nieces and nephews.
