In this issue appears the announcement of Mr. D. H. Lay, of Cadron township, as a candidate for the office of sheriff. Mr. Lay served the people of this county as sheriff during the years 1866-7, and is no stranger to them. He will make a vigorous canvass, and the probability is now that he will have one of the most hotly contested triangular races for this office ever witnessed in the county. Lay, Poe and Thompson are all strong men.
