Mrs. Ida Belle Suggs Dies At Her Home Here
(died 27 Dec 1957 in Clinton)

Mrs. Ida Belle Suggs, 78, lifelong resident of Choctaw and Clinton, died at her home here Friday, December 27. Funeral services were conducted at 2:30 p. m. Sunday at Huie Cemetery by Henry E. Pipken, minister to the Clinton Church of Christ.

She was born February 12, 1878, at Choctaw, the daughter of the late S.R. and Mollie Jennings. At the age of 18 was married to Miles Suggs of Barrens Community. To this union eight children were born, two of whom died at an early age. She had been a member of the Church of Christ about 50 years.

Survivors are three sons, Owen Suggs of the home, Charlie Suggs of San Jose, Calif., and Sam Suggs of Hobbs, N. M.; three daughters, Mrs. Verlena O’Dell of Roseville, Calif., Mrs. W. H. Harris and Mrs. Ray Ramsey of Clinton; 19 grandchildren and 36 great grandchildren.

Pallbearers were D. Z. Jennings, Sam Jennings, Derwin Jennings, Herb Eubanks, Charlie Bradley and Leon Evans. Burial was in Huie Cemetery by Coffman Funeral Home of Clinton.
