1. George Hayes and Sarah Dyer appeared in Augusta County VA in the early 1700's. George
is listed in a probate record of Augusta County Court dated May 21, 1747 and published in
the "Chronicles of the Scotch-Irish Settlement in VA, 1745-1800"
George Hayes was born on June 1, 1714 at Isle of Wight, VA and died an early death on May
21, 1747. Sarah Dyer was born on June 1, 1716 also at Isle of Wight, VA and died about
1800 in North Carolina. She bore George four sons and two daughters. She later remarried
James Edminsten (1725-1792) and bore him three sons and two daughters.

3. Ann Hayes married James Blair. James was born about 1730 and died in 1783 in Burke, NC.
He was the son of James Blair and Mary Colbert. Ann and James had the following children:

32. Ann Blair born in 1769 in Burke, NC and died in 1825. Married Charles Baker
in 1829 in Burke, NC. Charles, the son of Thomas Baker and Dorothy Davenport was
born Feb 2, 1762 in Culpepper, VA and died Apr 26, 1850 in Cass, GA.

4. Thomas Hayes married Unknown Blair in 1759 in Amherst, VA. Mary, the daughter of Colbert
Blair and Sarah Morgan was born 1749 in Amherst, VA and died 1807 in Burke, NC.

married Mary Judah "Polly" Mills on May 14, 1785 in Wilkes, NC. Polly was born
in 1763 in Wilkes, NC and died in 1832 in Wilkes, NC. Her parents were William
Mills and Sarah Ellis.

43. John Hayes born 1768 Caldwell, NC died 1850 Watauga, NC. John married Millie
"Milla" Medaris. Millie was born in 1775 at Dragon Swamp, VA and died Dec 1859
in Watauga, NC. She was the daughter of Rice Medaris (Revolutionary War veteran)
and Rachael McPheeters.
John and Millie had the following children:
431. Ransom Hayes born 1805 in Caldwell, NC died Mar 1868 in Watauga, NC. Ransom
married Sarah "Sallie" Greene in 1827 in NC. Sallie was born 1808 in Ashe, NC
and died 1862 in Watauga, NC. She was the daughter of Joseph Greene and
Elizabeth Shearer. Ransom Hayes was one of the founders of Boone, NC and donated
a parcel of 25 acres for the building of the town.

Margaret Edminsten.
433. Afton Alphan Hayes born 1809, Watauga, NC died 1870 in Union, GA. He
married Martha Patsy Harrison May 10 1828 in Caldwell, NC. Martha was born 1804
in Iredell, NC and died 1900 in Union, GA. She was the daughter of Joseph
Harrison and Drucilla Hines Bentley.

4334. Rufus Jeremiah Hayes was born March 3, 1838 in Wilkes, NC and died January
3, 1869 in Union, GA. He married Nancy Lavenia Lowe April 3, 1859 in Union, GA.
Nancy was born June 1, 1842 in NC and died December 3, 1916 in Union, GA. She
was the daughter of Jesse Lowe and May Polly Mason.

1951 in Van Buren County, AR. He married Rebecca J. Byers July 24, 1881

Van Buren County, AR and was the daughter of John Albert Byers and
Martha Bramblett. All of their children were born in Arkansas.

AR. She was the daughter of Alfred McKinney Bishop and Mary Ann Ingram.
