Ellza Leonard Presley was born in May 1847 in Fayette Co. Georgia. His parents were Leonard Jackson Presley born 1820 Fayette Co. Georgia and Elisy Carolina Bently. They were married July 13, 1843. Ellza Leonard Presley was named for his Mother and Father.

Leonard Jackson Presley came to Arkansas before 1850. They were on the 1850 census in Benton Twp. Conway County, Ar. Leonard Jackson Presley was a chair and spinning wheel maker. One of the GGG granddaughters still has a chair made by him. In 1860 census in Conway Co. Benton Twp July 17,1860 #712 page 545 it lists Leonard Jackson Presley age 40 Farmer born in Georgia. Nancy A, Presley age 14 Female born in Georgia. Elsey L.. Presley age 12 Male born in Georgia.

Here is our line as we know it:
John Presley (applied for Rev. War pension in Marion Co. Tn. Dec. 4, 1833) Resident of Marion Co., 83 years old. He was born in Rowan Co. N.C. in 1748, but had on record of his birth. He was called into service from Muhlenberg Co. N.C. He lived there for 20 years after the war. He enlisted in the service in 1799 as a substitute of John Cole who had been drafted for 6 months. He served under Capt. Druy Ledbetter and Capt. Hart in Charleston S.C. In 1780 he served 3 months under Capt. Charles McKee. He had a battle at Hanging Rock and defeated and destroyed the Tories and British. His Capt. was killed. Pension # S3,738 He was allowed 40 dollars a year. John Presley died July 27, 1837 Rev. Veteran lottery residence fortunate draw granted. John Presley 1827 Henry Co. 287 7 Lee 11-07-1818. Moses Presley (son of John) married Nancy Leonard Putnam Co. Ga. Jan 10 1818.

Leonard Jackson Presley born 1820 (Moses-John) was married to Caroline Bentley Fayette Co. Ga. 1843. He had 2 children Elliza Leonard, and Nancy A. Presley.

Elliza Leonard Presley born in May 1847 (Leonard J.- Moses-John) married OOnita Jerusha E. Roberts January 16, 1866 by J.C. A. Connel JP in Conway Co. Ar. His wife was born February 7, 1847 in Humprey Co, Tn. They are both buried at Colony Cemetery in V.B.C. In the Civil War Ellzy was only a teenager, but he served in McRay's Ar Infantry (Ar. Confederate Pension Application page 238). According to his wife's application, Ellizy served about 6 months. He was released in 1865 at the close of the war. In the 1880 census in Red River twp. E.L. Presley is listed as 33 married to Jerusha, age 33 and their children were Caledeonial 13- Pheba 9- Mary I. age 6 (this is my great grandmother Mary Idella Presley born 1874 Van Buren Co. Ar.), Daniel J. 1, and Marrise age 11. On the 1900 census Elliza and Jerusha are listed with children at home Daniel 23- Kaleb 18- and Alta Lee 12. On the 1900 census it shows Ellizy to be a blacksmith, but he was also a preacher. In Ar. Land records it shows Ellsey Presley South V.B.C. 9 10n 12w 80 acres. Ellizy and Jerusha had 10 children. Jerusha applied for a confederate pension in 1927 page 238, Pension #29035. She was living at Bee Branch Ar, at the time.
