Van Buren County Paper, January 19, 1882
Dr. Markham, on last Wednesday, as justice of the peace, performed a marriage ceremony that united two souls of rather a forgetful and forgiving nature. The parties were Mr. T. G. McElroy and Mrs. N. J. McElroy. There is a bit of romance connected with the history of their love. Twenty-three years ago he wooed and wedded this same individual, but soon afterward became dissatisfied, and was divorced. He then married another, living with her until her death, when he went back to his old love, and was again married, as above stated.
Conway Democrat
We do wonder if this is our long lost Dr. Tom McElroy? We wish him contentment in his new re-marriage. The first love never dies and this is but another illustration of that truth.

"Spike" and the "devil" add their sincere congratulations to those of the other friends - whose name is legion - of Capt. Fraser and his fair and charming bride, trusting that the solemn vows entered into by them, may ever prove one of true joy, and only be rendered asunder by the inevitable summons which, at last, awaits us all. May the bright stars of hope and happiness ever cast their sparkling light continually o'er their voyage through life - gliding down the great stream as calm and gentle as the pleasant murmurings of peaceful brook.
