$2500 by the state and $47.50 by members of the legislature.
The abject in publishing the above is to let the people all know what became of the money. The reader will note the fact that there was not a cent spent for expenses. The apportioning board did their work free. The Journal did the necessary printing without pay, the treasurer charged no commission. Deputy Clerk J. A. Thomas made a record of the distribution in the County Court Records for the future use for the people without charge. All this was done that those who suffered might have the use of every cent available.
