Transcribed by LynnNow on this day the court proceeds to lay off and establish the lines and bounds of the different precincts in political Townships in Van Buren County to wit:
1st Hartzuggs Township bounded as follows to wit. Beginning at Jas Maddox's on the line between Township Eleven & Twelve running thence West to Pope County line, thence with said line to the Searcy County line then on with said line to the Horse Shoe Bend on the Middle Fork of Little Red River so as to include the Thomas Harness place thence South West to the beginning.
2nd Turkey Creek Township bounded as follow to wit: Beginning at the Horse shoe Bend in the middle fork of Little Red river in the Searcy County line running South to Cove Road thence with said Road to the Township line dividing Town Twelve and Thirteen, thence East with the said line to Izard County line thence with said county line to the Searcy County line thence with said line to the beginning. Precinct at Hendrix Passmore's.
3rd California Township bounded as follows to wit. Beginning in the South East corner of Turkey Creek Township on Range lines between Eleven and Twelve thence with said line South to Township Corner of Town Eleven & Twelve thence East to the Independence County line thence with said line to the Izard county line thence with said line to the beginning.
4th Union Township line Bounded as follows to wit. beginning on the North East Corner of Holley Township in the Turkey Creek Township then? running south with said line passing the South East Corner so as to include the Curl place, thence East with the dividing ridge between middle fork and south fork of Little red River so as to intersect with the Range line between Eleven and Twelve. Thence North to Turkey Creek township line thence West to the beginning.
5th Griggs Township line bounded as follows to wit: Beginning at James Maddox's on line between Town eleven & Twelve running North East to the North West Corner of Holley township thence south with said line to the South West corner of said Township thence East with said line to the south East corner of said Township thence South with said line between town Thirteen and fourteen to Choctaw Creek near B.B. Jennings, so as to include Jennings thence with said creek to section line between Thirteen and fourteen thence South to Conway county line thence with said line to the dividing Ridge between Choctaw Creek and the East fork of Point Remove Creek thence with said divider to South fork of Little Red river thence North to the South East corner on the Range line between Fourteen and fifteen thence to the beginning.
6th Red River Township bounded as follows to wit beginning on the Northwest corner of Section one Township Eleven Range Twelve running thence northwest to the corner of the Cadron Township thence north to the corner of Davis Township thence with Davis Township line to Griggs Township line thence with said line to Isaac Hunters thence down Choctaw to Zachariah R. Jennings thence north with range line to Union Township line thence to the beginning.
7th Cadron Township bounded as follows to wit Beginning at top of the mountain at the road south of Eligah Beans thence northwest by Purnel Chances so as to include said Chance in said township thence west by Ealorin? Hollands thence southwest by Wm Grants thence southwest to the Conway County line thence with Conway and White County lines between Township Ten and Eleven thence to David Bruces thenc to the beginning.
8th Piney Township bounded as follows to wit Beginning on the Northwest corner of Cadron Township running thence Southeast with Cadron Township line including David Brew? and James Clayton thence with said line to White County line thence east with said line to the corner of Township nine Range Ten thence with said line to the top of the mountain thence with top of the mountain to the beginning.
9th Davis Township bounded as follows to wit Beginning at the Sulphur springs running thence with Red River Township line to Cadron Township line thence with said line to the Conway County line thence with said line to the top of the mountain west of the William Tedford old place thence with the main divider between the waters of Little Red River and the Cadron to the beginning.
10 Giles Township bounded as follows to wit Beginning when the middle line in Range ten crosses Little red River thence west with said River to the mouth of Salt Spring Creek thence with the most southern branch of said creek thence west to Little red River Township line thence north to the northeast corner of red river Township thence east on township line dividing township Eleven and Twelve to the middle of Range ten, thence south to the beginning.
11th Valley Township bounded as follows to wit. Beginning on the top of the mountain on Cadron and Piney Township corner thence with Piney Township line to the corner of nine and range ten thence north so as to include Ransom Rule to Little Red River thence with Giles Township line to the mouth of Salt Spring Creek thence with said Giles Township line to range line between range eleven & twelve thence south to the beginning.
12th Sugar Loaf Township bounded as follows to wit. Beginning at the corner of Valley & Piney Township thence East with said line to the White County line thence North with said line to the Independence County line thence west on said line to the corner of California Township thence west with California Township line to the middle of Range ten thence south to the beginning.
13th Craig Township bounded as follows to wit. Beginning at the southeast corner of Range line between range fourteen and fifteen in the dividing ridge between the South Fork and Arches? fork of Little red River thence running west with said divide to oposite of ford between John L. Williams thence south to the dividing ridge between south fork & Point Remove Creek thence with said divide between the East fork of Point Remove and the fork that John Jackson lives on thence with said ridge to the Conway County line thence east to the dividing ridge between Choctaw and the east fork of Point Remove thence northwest with said ridge to the range line between range fourteen and fifteen thence with said line to the beginning.
14th Liberty Township line bounded as follows to wit. Beginning on the Northwest corner of Craig Township thence west to the Pope county line thence south with said line to the Conway County line thence east with said line to the corner of Craig Township thence with said line to the beginning.
