General Notes for Eldred S. LEWIS

Served in Confederate army in Co. A, 4 Batt'n Hilliard's Legion, AL Artillery. It shows he deserted near Lafayette, Sept. 17, 1863 but he shows up second and third quarter of 1864 with Co. I, 59th AL Regt. He was on a Parole of Prisoners of War sworn and subscribed to April 24, 1865, at Hd. Qrs. Cavalry Forces M. D. W. M., near Greenville, AL.
