Meeting Program - February

Program by Architect Gary Clements February 28,7 pm

Gary Clements of Clements & Associates in North Little Rock is the new architect leading the restoration of the 148-year-old Smyrna building. As he and other preservationists look deeper beneath its surface, the historic structure is beginning to give up some of its secrets.  Clements will present a program on the church at the next meeting of the White County Historical Society, Monday, February 28, at 7 p.m.  The meeting at Harding Place is open to the public, and attendees are urged to bring old photographs of the church building.  A 1915 view recently donated to the White County Historical Society is proving to be very valuable in Clements' development of a restoration plan.  The church property on Highway 36 west of Searcy was donated to the City in 1995 with the understanding that it would be restored. Don't miss this unique program!
