Oral History Program Honors Veterans

AETN field producer Gabe Gentry of Conway will address the White County Historical Society in our regular monthly meeting Monday, November 28, at Harding Place in Searcy. He will focus on oral history testimonies of Arkansas World War II generation and will show segments from an unique series of interviews he and a team of other editors conducted for the Arkansas Educational Telecommunications Network. Gentry graduated from the University of Central Arkansas in 2003 with a degree in digital film making. He then partnered with Arkansas Scottish Rite Freemasons to interview Arkansas veterans of WWII, some of them from White County, where his work is continuing today. The first interviews ultimately became a 10-DVD, 20 hour oral history collection. We honor our military veterans this month with this unique program featuring what has been called "The Greatest Generation". The meeting will start at 7 and is open to the public.
