New Hope is located north of Searcy. The original listing was prepared by Cloie Presley and Nell Henry of the White County
Historical Society in October 1962. It was updated 38 years later by Society member Leroy Blair, who added some 40 names and
other information and provided these comments: "To get to this cemetery from Searcy, take Highway 16 north to Four Mile Hill.
Turn left on Oak Forrest Road. Go about 1 ½ miles to Coles lane, which is not marked. There is a sign that reads ‘Lighthouse
Church of Deliverance.’ Turn right at that sign and go about one-third mile. The cemetery is just past the mailbox at 143 Coles
Lane, about 100 yards off the road. It is fenced and fairly clean. I visited this cemetery October 12, 2000. I found 51 graves that are
marked by rocks or old funeral home markers that cannot be read. There are about 30 depressions or mounds with no markings at
all."

If you have any additions or corrections to the burial listing please contact the Historical Society. Phone 501-

I will be posting more burials later. The Searcy Daily Citizen donated all their Micro Film and Ledgers dating
back to 1953. After reviewing them, if I find a death of a person that we do not have I will to add to the
cemetery listings.
There are some graves listed as unmarked that may have had a tombstone set since the listing was made.
I may have missed some graves when I prepared the listing. Some cemeteries are very hard to get an
accurate listing due to how some graves are scattered
The following Abbreviations are used in the listings
.
FM-Funeral home marker DS-Double tombstone TS-Triple tombstone
(Obit)-means that the Historical Society has, or has access to the Obituary for this person.
