White County, Arkansas

The White County Historical Society meets on the fourth Monday of each month except December.  Site is the dining room of beautiful Harding Place, a Christian retirement community at 801 South Benton in Searcy, bordering the campus of Harding University.  Thanks to the hospitality of Harding Place executive director Arthur Churchill and his wife Karen, the WCHS has met here since January 2000.   The next meeting is scheduled for January 23.  A typical meeting consists of brief business announcements, "show and tell" exchange of historical items, then a 30 or 40-minute program, completing the meeting by 8 o'clock.
