The time is 1920, the attire is daring, and the swimmers are undaunted. They are Edna Boles (left) and Ethel Boles of Drake Spur. The little community just south of Pangburn is known today as Mountain Home. It was there that songwriter Luther G. Presley wrote the lyrics for one of the most famous songs in the world, "When The Saints Go Marching In," in 1937. Edna Boles was the grandmother of Betty Bennett and great grandmother of Diann Poe, White County Historical Society members who provided several early photos from the Letona and Drake Spur areas.
