Transcribed by
Gary Telford Family Roots This cemetery is located about one mile north of Gregory on Highway 33. Rolfe Eldridge bought the land on which the cemetery is located in the year 1852 from Robert H. Adams who had acquired it by Government Patent (deed) in 1849. It was begun for slaves of the Eldridge family, and after they were given their freedom, members of their families were allowed to use the cemetery if they so desired. Of the Eldridge slaves and others buried in this cemetery, only a few names have been given me. Brown, Annie Eldridge, "Uncle" Bob Fisher, Anderson Fisher, Marie Fisher, Joe Gaines, Mit Gaines, Charlie Lacy, Booker Lacy, James William White, Sissy
