The Rev. Lowery Lemuel SMITH, 64, of Bearden, died Tuesday, April 30. A Babtist minister, he was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church, Columbia Masonic Lodge 82, Zedekiah Council 52, Gethsemane Commandery 31 and the American Legion. He was a veteran of WWII, U.S. Army. Survivors include his wife Nora Nutt Smith of Jacinto; a son J.L. Smith of Jacinto; three daughters Annette Clements of Lakeview, Marian Byers of Hope and Kathryn Green of Lufkin, Texas; his father the Rev. John L. Smith of Jacinto; two brothers the Rev. Searcy Smith of Smackover and Ben Smith of Leola; a sister Marene Sue Pierce of Magnolia; and five grandchildren. Funeral was at 2 p.m. today at Temple Baptist Church in Fordyce with the Revs. A.D. Livingston, John Green, Larry Byers and Paul Martin officiating. Burial was in Princeton Cemetery at Princeton by Benton Funeral Home of Fordyce.
