 Acie Thrower, 79, died Wednesday in a North Las Vegas hospital.


 He was born Oct. 28, 1922, in Fordyce, Ark. A laborer in construction, he was a 50-year resident of Las Vegas.


 He is survived by his companion, Ruby Burns of Las Vegas; sons, James Tate, Larry Childs, Ronnie Burns, Kenneth Burns and Willie, all of Las Vegas, and Lawrence Tate of Chicago; daughters, Jennifer Burns of Las Vegas, Ruth Ann of Fordyce and Nancy of California; sisters, Gertrude Gibson of Fordyce, Kacassie Mae Parham and Louise Lambert, both of Bearden, Ark., and Elizabeth Wallace and Ophelia Webb, both of Las Vegas; brother, Carl of Fordyce; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.


 Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. Monday at American Burial & Cremation Services, with services at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Second Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery.
