Harvie Rado Richardson, 80, of Pawnee, Okla., died on Friday, Sept. 11, 2009, in Stillwater, Okla. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2009, at Fairlawn Cemetery with Paul Jones officiating. Strode Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. He was born on Feb. 20, 1929, in Grand Island, Neb., to Rado Price Richardson and Anna Matilda (Dunkel) Richardson. He married Cheri Ann DuPree of Stillwater on June 12, 1949 in Grand Island, Neb. He graduated high school as senior class president in Fordyce, Ark. He served in the U.S. Naval Air Transport from 1947 to 1948.In 1951, he graduated with a B.S. in agriculture education from Oklahoma A and M and in 1957 he received his Ph.D. in animal nutrition. For 12 years he was a consulting nutritionist for the King Ranch and 30 years for Shawnee Milling Company.He was an Oklahoma horseman for over 40 years, breeding and racing thoroughbreds and quarter horses. For 25 years he was a member of the RCA.He was preceded in death by his parents, and one sister, Betty Mae Becker.He is survived by his wife, Cheri Richardson of Pawnee, Okla.; daughter Monica Richardson of Pawnee, Okla.; granddaughter Joni Michelle and husband Paul Michael Beard II of Lawrence, Kan.; grandson Brady Allen Hybsha of Weatherford, Okla.; and great grandson Ridley Richardson Beard of Lawrence, Kan.Memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Humane Society of Stillwater, 1710 S.
