Fordyce Schools

The first graduating class for Fordyce Public Schools was around 1889. Various private schools were established in the late 1800s. The first private school to be established was The Clary Training School, in 1890. The school was sponsored by the Methodists, and closed in 1911. The Judson Baptist Academy, was established in 1901. Judson existed until around 1908, when it closed.

The Dallas County Training School was established with the 1918 and 1919 academic year, and served Black students from Bradley, Calhoun, Cleveland, and Dallas counties.
