    ON FEBRUARY 11, THIS YEAR, LAKESIDE'S 4-H CLUB MET IN THE HIGH SCHOOL AUDITORIUM AND WITH THE ASSISTANCE OF MRS. GERALDINE ORRELL AND D.V. MALOCH REORGANIZED. APPROXIMATELY 150 BOYS AND GIRLS BECAME MEMBERS FOR THE YEAR. OFFICERS WERE THEN ELECTED: ELVIS SWAFFORD BECAME PRESIDENT; CLYDE STEWARD, VICE-PRESIDENT; AGNES JACKSON, SECRETARY; AND LELAND BLACK, SONG-LEADER.

    PROJECTS BEING CARRIED OUT THIS YEAR INCLUDE POULTRY, GARDENING, CANNING, CLOTHING, ROOM IMPROVEMENT, LIVESTOCK, COTTON AND CORN.

    THE NINTH OF EACH MONTH WAS CHOSEN AS REGULAR MEETING DATE.

F.F.A. ORGANIZATION

    THE F.F.A. WAS ORGANIZED FOR THE FIRST TIME AT LAKESIDE HIGH SCHOOL WITH 35 MEMBERS. OFFICERS WERE ELECTED AS FOLLOWS:

     CHAPTER PROJECTS WERE STARTED WITH A VETCH AND RYE PATCH AND TWO HOG PROJECTS.

    TRIPS TAKEN BY BOYS WERE TO THE TRI-STATE FAIR IN MEMPHIS, TO THE STATE LIVESTOCK SHOW IN LITTLE ROCK, THE FAT PIG SHOW IN MEMPHIS, AND THE JUDGING CONTESTS IN JONESBORO AND FAYETTEVILLE.

    THE PRINCIPAL SOCIAL EVENT OF THE YEAR OCCURED THE NIGHT OF MARCH 6, 1941, WHEN THE CHAPTER'S FIRST FATHER AND SON BANQUET WAS HELD IN THE HIGH SCHOOL AUDITORIUM.
