My name is Jeannette Harper. My husband has a LONG family history with Independence County though he has never been there. Gibson, Harper, Holderby, Scott and Sturch are just some of the names in my hubby’s family tree. Oil Trough, Batesville, Big Bottom Township, Minark, Newark, White River Township are all places they have lived.

All of the photographs you see on the various pages are mine. If I have a name (or names) I have added that information. Who knows... you may recognize either the surnames or given names! You may even recognize the face of someone in one of my photos! And, if YOU have photographs you want to share, use the contact form to let me know.

I have quite a few queries I need to organize and reformat before I can add them to this site. I will be working on those next!!

How to use this website: There are labels and links on the left side. They will take you to a variety of pages and MORE information. I am always looking for volunteers, especially someone who 'knows' the area!
