Francis was born 1866 and had 10 children with William 5 of which were still alive in 1933.I only know the name of one of the children, Joseph Henry Brown, my great grandfather who died in 1918 and is buried in France. William may have been an Elder in a church there as some documents have "Eld" preceding his name. I found a listing for both in a cemetery registry in the Ashdown Library, but was unable to locate the graves in the cemetery I was directed to. I believe William was a farmer in the area. WARD, BRADSHAW, TURNER,

WILSON
QRYTEXT: My great-grandmother, Nellie Ward, married Henry Benton Eubank of New Boston, Texas @1880 when she was 19. Her father was Clark Ward and her mother was Jane Bradshaw. I do not know Jane's maiden name - she was previously married to a Bradshaw from North Carolina and had several children by first husband including a Jenny Bradshaw who became my great-great grandfather's wife after the death of her mother. A woman named Dutchie Wilson of Foreman Arkansas had the Ward Bible and I assume she was a Ward. I believe Clark's father was a Daniel or a David Ward. The Wards were in Sevier, Hempstead and Little River Co., Arkansas. Family story says great-grandmother was part Choctau - I assume from Ward line. Clark Ward had either three or four wives and over 30 children - one of the oldest children was named Sarah Ward and I believe she remained single. The youngest child and a daughter of Jenny Bradshaw was Catherine Ward and she was raised by my greatgrandmother and her husband. A brother of my greatgrandmother was named William and he is buried in the Eubank cemetery in New Boston. Another brother was named Henry. I have most of the names of the children if anyone thinks we might connect.

FARRIS

On 19 November 1878, Granville R Farris, a fugitive from Illinois, was killed by an assailant. He lived for several days before dying, and was cared for, during this time, by a Billingsly family in Little River County. His assailant was caught and lynched!

I would like to find any record of this, burial place, and if possible, the name of the assailant! Would this be vigilante action, or would there be legal records of this. Farris's body was returned to Illinois for burial. Farris possibly could have known the Billingsly family from an earlier time. I'm trying to determine if the assault was just a random crime, robbery, or revenge for an earlier murder by Farris in Hamilton County, Illinois in 1877.

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Al Lee
