Bennett-The Brinkley Argus-In Modesto, CA, May 5, 1976, Elmer Lee Bennett, Beloved husband and father of three children, all of Modesto. Son of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Bennett of Blackton, Arkansas; sister and brothers, all of Tennessee. A native of Arkansas, aged 36 years. Friends are invited to attend funeral services Saturday 10:00 AM at Franklin & Downs-McHenry Chapel. Committal, private. Visitation at the Chapel today (Friday) from Noon until 9:00 PM.

Holly Grove-Elmer Bennett, 71, farmer, died Sunday, May 1, 1977, at his home. Services at 2 PM today at Wylie-Fowler Funeral Home in Brinkley, burial in McCurley Cemetery. He leaves a wife, Mrs. Mary Holloway Bennett, a daughter and four sons, all of Memphis.

Elmer Bennett-The Brinkley Argus

Holly Grove-Elmer Bennett, 71, of Holly Grove (Monroe County) a farmer, died Sunday, May 1, 1977. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Mary Holloway Bennett, four sons, and a daughter, all of Memphis, 18 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Funeral was today at Wylie-Fowler Funeral Home at Brinkley. Burial was in McCurley Cemetery near Holly Grove.

FATHER OF BLACKTON LADIES DEAD AT 105-The Brinkley Argus

Andrew Jackson Holloway, who was born at Arkansas Post 105 years ago, died at Marianna last week. He leaves his wife, and six children; three daughters, Mrs. Mae Edwards, Mrs. Billie Hickman, and Mrs. Mary Bennett, all of Blackton; three sons, R.G. Holloway of Greenfield, Rufas Holloway of Buckhorn and Andrew Holloway of Buckhorn; two brothers, Bob and John McCurley of Raymond. February 24, 1941

Andrew J. Holloway, aged between 90 and 100, died at the home of his daughter Mrs. Elmer Bennett near Blackton, at 7:00 AM, Monday, February 24th 1941. He had been a resident of the Blackton community for a long number of years. Surviving him, in addition to his widow, are three daughters, three sons, sixteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Funeral rites were said on Tuesday afternoon from the Raymond Union Church by the Rev. J.H. Brooks of Clarendon, and interment was in Raymond cemetery in charge of S.E. Brown & Son of Clarendon.
Brother of Blackton Woman Dies Tuesday-Brinkley Argus

Rufus M. Holloway age 69, of Marianna, brother of Mrs. Elmer Bennett of Blackton, died Tuesday at Lee Memorial Hospital after a short illness. He was a World War II Army veteran. Other survivors are his wife, four daughters, three sons, 16 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Funeral was at 2 PM Wednesday (March 16, 1988) at the Full Gospel Church of God in Moro, which he was a member. Burial was in Marianna Memorial Park by Citizens Funeral Home.

Lugene Shepherd - The Brinkley Argus

Lugene Shepherd, 95, of Brinkley, died Saturday, September 14, 1996 in Little Rock. Mr. Shepherd was born in Clarendon September 16, 1900, to the late James and Mary Bryant Shepherd. He was a farmer, a member of the Lutheran Church and enjoyed keeping up with what was going on in the world and farming news. He is survived by his wife, Jessie; two sons, two daughters, and one stepdaughter, four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Funeral services were 2 PM Monday, September 16, at Bob Neal and Sons Funeral Home Chapel in Brinkley with the Rev. Randy Mabry officiating. Burial was in the Upper Cemetery by Bob Neal and Sons Funeral Home.
