This is a very old cemetery located on DeValls Bluff's rolling hills, just west of the city limits. Many unmarked gravesites contain members of Prairie County's proud pioneer families. I (Marilyn Hambrick Sickel) have been given to understand that original cemetery records were destroyed by fire many years ago. Records are more accurate for the subsequent acreage added to the cemetery.
This cemetery, like the other four cemeteries along Prairie County's section of the White River, rests on the high ground just west of the river. Oral tradition has it that this cemetery was begun before the Civil War.
This cemetery is used by both black and white families.
