The need for a cemetery had been discussed in this community and in order to acquire acreage for a cemetery, Mr. Roy Uland bought 40 acres of land where Welcome Home Cemetery is in Des Arc Township. He donated the cemetery acreage and acreage for the building of the Welcome Home Assembly of God Church.
Floyd Calhoun later bought the Uland acreage and as the need arose, he gave added footage for enlarging the cemetery.
The Northside Community Center building now stands where the Assembly of God Church Building was located.
