SCOTT COUNTY ARKANSAS
1911 CENSUS OF CONFEDERATE VETERANS
INDEX

The following is a list of the Scott County Confederate veterans who were enumerated in 1911 by the local tax assessor, G.E. Crowley. Public Acts of Arkansas No. 353 required this enumeration be taken; however not all counties participated. Various questions were asked of the veterans regarding their name, date and place of birth, information about their military service, and family background. The information provided varies from person to person, with some giving extensive details of their family and it's history and others who provided the bare minimum of information. Copies of these biographical questionaires covering the entire state are available from the Arkansas State Archives. They have also been abstracted and published by Arkansas Research, Inc. Copies of individual questionaires are available there for $3.00 each.

Thanks to Kim Mauney who obtained the copy of her ancestor, Isaac Jefferson Houston's, file and has allowed us to post it here. Click on the link below to read his file.
