 Gen. M.E. Greene Brig from 1862 ? 1865 without
 discharge.  In prison on Johnson Island, OH for nearly two years.

Church connection:  Missionary Baptist ? Clerk & Treasurer of
 Baptist Association and church for 30 years

Wife & date of marriage:
 First wife was Elmira Elizabeth Tillman, daughter of
 Mrs. Margaret Tillman of Elk Valley, MO

 Second wife was Matilda J. McLaughlin

Comments: Mrs. Margaret Tillman was the daughter of Mrs.
 Nancy Duncan of Lewis Co. TN
 Henderson Palmer Green was the son of Wesly Green
 who was born in NC, who was a descendant of General
 Nathaniel Green.  A General of the Revolution of Scotch-
 Irish ?desent?.  His father died in the year 1836 and he
 was bound to Alfred Davidson and his wife Martha
 Davidson and they moved to MO in the year 1837, near
 Springfield and was rebound to them and lived with them
 until they died in the years.
