Chapel Hill Primitive Baptist Church

Chapel Hill Church was organized 28 September 1850, with the help of the members of the Pilgrims Rest Church of Holly Springs. Chapel Hill Church is located six miles southeast of Sparkman on Hwy 207.

The first meeting was conducted by Henry F. Goodrich & Leroy Purifoy. Active members in the church include Judge Thomas Peterson & his son Thomas, Jr. Judge Peterson served the Church for forty-four years as the Pastor. Judge Peterson also assisted in organizing Sardis Church, near Donaldson; Little Cypress Church; Friendship Church; and Hot Springs Church.
