TULIP - Freedonia Walker Smith, 71, of Tulip (Dallas County), died June 6, 2001, at Hot Spring County Medical Center at Malvern.
Born November 24, 1929, at Holly Springs, she was a daughter of Elder Murphy Walker of Carthage (Dallas County) and the late Alfreda Mack Walker.
She was a member of Carthage Church of God in Christ where she served on the mother's board.
Other survivors include four sons, Levi Smith of Tulip, Charles T. Smith and Robert Smith, both of Richmond, California, and Caral L. Smith of Walterboro, South Carolina; three daughters, Brenda J. Jones of San Francisco, Sheila Conn and Michelle D. Smith, both of Richmond; four brothers, Thomas Walker of Carthage, Mack L. Walker and Elder Altrue Walker, both of Portland, Oregon, and Elder Frank Walker of Fordyce; seven sisters, Murphy Johnson of St. Louis, Leevonure Brown and Daisy Hayes, both of Portland, Belinda Suell of Vancouver, Washington, Aretha Danzy of Crossett, Creenella Thrower of Camden and Vera Brown of Fordyce; stepmother, Garey T. Walker of Carthage; 12 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. today at Carthage Church of God in Christ at Carthage with Elder Robert Rudolph officiating. Burial will be in Toone's Chapel Cemetery at Tulip by Brown-Williams Funeral Home of Fordyce.
The family will be at 4934 Highway 9, Tulip.
