John King


John King Jr., 73, of Sparkman died Jan. 18, 2002 at his home. He was born Oct. 1, 1928 in Sparkman son of the late John King Sr. and Dora Hicks King. He was a log cutter and a member of Harmony Baptist Church of Sparkman.


Survivors include: His wife, Earlene Burch King; four sons, Bobby King of Kansas City, Mo., James King and Christopher King of Sparkman and William King of Arkadelphia; six daughters, Beatrice Jordan and Cynthia Harris of Kansas City, Mo., Verdia Kirkwood of Buffalo, N.Y., Gloria Jones and Lahomia King of Arkadelphia, and Linda Butler of Sparkman; a sister, Emma Gregory of Bearden; and 28 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.


Funeral will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Harmony Missionary Baptist Church in Sparkman with Rev. Charles Kidd officiating. Burial will be in Harmony Community Cemetery under the direction of Marks Funeral Home of Fordyce.
