Welcome

Hi, my name is Gina Heffernan and I'm a Temporary County Coordinator. I'm very glad you stopped by and hope that you find this website useful for your genealogical research. I don't live in Arkansas but I may be able to direct you to someone who can help locally. If you have questions or comments, please click the contact button up there and drop me a note.

Our previous coordinator, Jane Colmenares has retired and I'd like to thank her for all the work she has given to the various projects in USGenWeb®, TXGenWeb, ARGenWeb, and the USGenWeb® Archives. Jane has been a great asset to all her projects.

*Researchers, please note: Due to a misunderstanding of the location of the international boundary line between the United States and Spanish Texas, the area of Bowie County, Texas, was once thought to be a part of "Old" Miller County, Arkansas, (1820-1836). After "Old" Miller County, Arkansas, ceased to exist in 1836, the records were moved to Lafayette County, Arkansas. If you are searching for records of families living in the Bowie County, Texas, area between 1820 and 1836, those records may be housed in Lafayette County, Arkansas, instead of Miller County, Arkansas. Check the early Miller County records and the 1830 Miller County, Arkansas, census.

Miller County is in the southwestern-most corner of Arkansas and the county seat is Texarkana.

This site is partnered with The ARGenWeb Project and The USGenWeb® Project. The records and files on these pages are FREE for your personal use and to help aid you in your research for tracing your roots!
