AMASON, AMERSON, AMISON, AMOSON, ERSON posted by S. Nigh on Tuesday, February 11, 1997

Seeking information on the family of Harriet AMASON/AMERSON found in the 1850 census of Union Co. AR. Harriet had three male children living with her:Wm. (William T.) age 9 born in AL, Christopher age 7 born in AL, and Sandy (probably Stanley), age 3 born in AL. We believe Harriet's husband was Isaac AMASON/AMERSON and that they married in Montgomery County, Alabama. We believe Harriet's husband died about 1848 (in Ouachita Co. AR?). The family of Jesse AMASON lives nearby and we believe they are related also. Jesse's family is later located in Bradley and Calhoun Counties. AMASON is also sometimes spelled as AMISON, AMOSON, and even EM(M)ERSON. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

AINSWORTH, JOHNSON posted by Carol Ann Johnson on Saturday, March 22, 1997

Am researching AINSWORTH family who migrated to Arkansas from Mississippi in early to mid 1800's. Several brothers came with their families, and settled in Calhoun, Columbia, Hempstead, and Union Counties. David AINSWORTH (b. 1785 in South Carolina) was my gggrandfather. He arrived in Union County ca. 1857. His brothers were Levin, Richard, Samuel, Isaac, &Amp; James. All settled in south Arkansas. David AINSWORTH had twin sons Alfred and Elbert, who served in the 24th Arkansas Infantry, CSA. Elbert was captured at Arkansas Post, 11Jan1863, and died at Camp Douglas, IL. Alfred AINSWORTH was my great grandfather. Alfred's son, John David AINSWORTH, was my grandfather. His daughter, Nettie Mae (AINSWORTH) JOHNSON, was my mother. Any information at all on these families, especially David AINSWORTH and his brothers, would be much appreciated. I have a lot of information, but need more -- happy to exchange.
