Funeral services for Mary Katherine Hughes, age 57, of Little Rock, Ark., formerly of Malvern, Ark., who died Friday, Sept. 12, 2008, at Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock, Ark., will be Saturday, Sept. 20, 2008, at 1 p.m. at Calvary Church of God in Christ with Elder Robert Rudolph, pastor officiating.
Burial will be in Harmony Cemetery in Sparkman, Ark., with Brandon’s Mortuary of Malvern, Ark., in charge of arrangements.
Mary Katherine Hughes was born March 22, 1951, in Malvern, Ark., to the parentage of Troy Hughes, Sr. and Corine Burks Hughes. She was a graduate of Malvern High School and a member of St. Paul Church of God in Christ and later attended Moro Church of God in Christ in Little Rock, Ark.
She was predeceased by her father; one brother, Ronald “Buddy” Hughes and one sister, Bonnie Faye Hughes.
Survivors include two sons, Corey Hughes of Malvern, Ark., and Kendrick Williams of San Diego, Calif.; her mother, Corine Hughes of Malvern, Ark.; nine brothers, Charles Hughes (Yukie) of Pensacola, Fla., Troy Hughes, Jr. (Virginia) of Malvern, Ark., James Hughes (Sandra) of Little Rock, Ark., Donnie Hughes (Brenda) of Malvern, Ark., David Hughes of Hot Springs, Ark., Stephen Hughes (Vivian) of Pensacola, Fla., Samuel Hughes of Little Rock, Ark., Andrew Hughes of Malvern, Ark., and Patrick Hughes of Little Rock, Ark.; two sisters, Lorraine (Carl, Sr.) Nelson and Maxine Smith, both of Little Rock, Ark.; sister-in-law, Edna Hughes of Jonesboro, Ark., and six grandchildren.
Visitation for family and friends will be Friday, Sept. 19, 2008, from 5-7 p.m. in the chapel of Brandon’s Mortuary Malvern, Ark.
