Flowers Dividing Line

This Cemetery contains the remains of those deceased who were previously buried in Billings, King I and Yocham Bend Cemeteries which are now covered by Bull Shoals Lake. Reinterment was made under the direction of the Army Corps of Engineers, US Government. This plot of land was deeded for this purpose from the Cowdrey Estate, January 27, 1950 and was incorporated as Old Midway Cemetery on April 17, 1990. It was dedicated in memory of Margaret "Peggy" Quinn, May 2003.
To get to the cemetery, take Highway 14 to Yellville. Stay on Highway 14 and go through Summit. At the stop sign in Summit (by Allen's Grocery store), go straight approximately 10 miles. You will be at Lakeway. The turn is on the right side. It will be the 2nd CCC Access road you see. The sign is brown. This is also Welcome Ridge Rd. Approximately 10 miles on the right is the cemetery. If you get to Pine Mountain Fire Department at the corner of Yocham Bend Road and the road to Flippen, you have gone too far. This route is completely paved. It is a winding road and has many hills so be careful. Watch out for deer and other animals. They seem to like the roads around the area.
The Women's Auxillary Group from Pine Mountain generally is in charge of the upkeep of this Cemetery. Once a year, usually around Memorial Day Weekend, there is a reunion type gathering at the cemetery. It is a weekend many look forward to and enjoy. The Women's Auxillary spends many hours at the cemetery cleaning the grounds for everyone to enjoy.
Facing the cemetery, section A is on the far left and follows to the far right in order. The diagram at the Cemetery is upside down and is very confusing to follow.
There are a number of burial sites marked as Unknown. The tombstones are very old and made mostly of old wood or large rocks. If these were ever marked in any way, it can not be read.
If you would like a picture of a specific burial site, feel free to contact me at the e-mail addresses above.
