Mt. Echo Newspaper, Sept 11, 1891 Issue: "Grandpa" May Tatum, living a few miles south of Yellville, died last Wednesday night at the great age of 82 years. He was speechless from the moment he was stricken down to his death.

Mt. Echo Newspaper, Sept 11, 1891 Issue Little Ola, the six year old daughter of I. S. Floyd, who lives near Bellefonte, was burned to death last week. Her clothes caught fire from the fireplace during a brief absence of the parents. -- Harrison Times.

Mt. Echo Newspaper 23 Oct 1891 Issue: From our friend, Mr. Tucker, of Baxter county, we learned yesterday morning of the suicide of Mr. W. T. Suther in that county near Mountain Home, which occurred on Wednesday of last week. He went out to the barn just about daylight and went into the crib and placed his gun in front of him, took a stick and pushed the trigger, and discharged its contents into his own body. Mt. Echo Newspaper, 27 Nov 1891 issue: DROWNED IN WHITE RIVER - Last Thursday about dark, John F. Hess, of Charity, Tenn., was drowned at Denton's Ferry. Mr. Hess was a soap peddler and traveled around over Arkansas, Missouri, Texas and other states selling recipts(sic) to make soap. (This article is VERY long. Mt. Echo Newspaper, 27 Nov 1891 issue: DROWNED IN WHITE RIVER - Last Thursday about dark, John F. Hess, of Charity, Tenn., was drowned at Denton's Ferry. Echo 1 Jan 1892 issue: The man who was drowned in White river a few weeks ago was found about two miles below McBee's Landing last Sunday. He had on his person a watch and a few dollars in money. It is evident that he had largely overstated the amount of money he had. He was floated over to Baxter county side where an inquest was held. We have not learned ____ investigation but presume a verdict of accidental drowning will be found.
