Prairie Township

Dividing Line

    Prairie Township was created between the 1840 and 1850 censuses from Blythe Township. It first appeared on the 1850 Census with a population of 397.
    In 1869 Prairie Township was annexed to Boone Co, AR. Then between 1869 and the 1880 census Prairie Township was recreated, once again from Blyth Township.
    This recreated township first appeared on the 1880 Census with a population of 839.
    In 1908 a part of Prairie Township was used to recreate Independence Township.
