Marion Co, AR
Sugar Loaf Township
Information & Map

Dividing Line

This township is one that no one seems to know the correct spelling for. Scattered throughout the pages here on the Marion Co site you'll find it spelled as both Sugar Loaf and Sugarloaf. Ancestry usually indexed it as Sugarloaf, but most of the actual census schedules listed it as Sugar Loaf. Here in the Township section you'll find it spelled as Sugar Loaf.
Sugar Loaf Township was created before 1836 and is one of Marion Co's original townships. It first appeared as a township on the 1840 Census with a population of 143.
A part of the township was given to Dodd City Township between the 1890 and 1900 Censuses.
