Hannah Archer


FORDYCE -- Hannah Belle Oakley Archer, 87, of Fordyce, died April 17, 2002, at her home.


Born June 15, 1914, at Bearden (Ouachita County), she was a daughter of the late Tom Oakley and Leona Bryant Oakley.


She was a member of Pilgrims Rest Primitive Baptist Church at Fordyce and of the East Hill Extension Homemakers Club at Fordyce.


She was preceded in death by three brothers, Virgil Oakley, George Oakley and Morris Oakley; three sisters, Mary Peek, Eunie Graves and Susie Simpson; and one great-grandson.


Survivors include her husband, Jewell Archer; one son, Derwood Archer of Fordyce; two daughters, Margaret Tidwell and Ann Campbell, both of Fordyce; three brothers, Floyd Oakley of Fordyce, Dillard Oakley of Pine Bluff and Clyde Oakley of Little Rock; nine grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.


Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday with Woodrow Hudson and the Rev. Ken Shaddox officiating. Burial will be in McDonald Cemetery near Fordyce by Benton Funeral Home at Fordyce.


Visitation will be from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.
