Mountaineer Echo Newspaper Week of April 10, 2003 issue: Hershel Lynn BEAVER, age 76, formerly of Harrison, Arkansas passed away April 2, 2003 at his home in Sparta, Missouri. Mr. BEAVER was born February 22, 1927 in Marshall, Arkansas to Floyd and Lena MCINTURF BEAVER, the fourth of nine children. He was of the Pentecostal faith and attended the Welcome Home Church. At the age of 19, he received Christ and was baptized at Zack United Pentecostal Church. He was a retired truck driver and avid cattle trader. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one sister. He is survived by his son, Darrell BEAVER of Harrison; three daughters, Judy PASSMORE and husband Cloyd of Harrison, Cheryl "Cheri" MACUMBER and husband Glenn of Sparta, MO and Stacey MCMULLEN and husband Billy "Danny" of Bergman; 12 grandchildren, Joey WELLS and wife Quinn of Beebe, Mitzi WYNN and husband James of Valley Springs, Jimmy WELLS of Harrison, Todd BEAVER and wife Rhonda of Bentonville, Suzanne PAUL and husband Steve of Harrison, Skipper MCCORMICK and husband Kent of Harrison, Andrew PHILLIPS of Jasper, Reggie ULMAN of Mountain Home, Beau GREENHAW of Harrison, Mary Beth MCMULLEN and Garret MCMULLEN both of Bergman and Becky PASSMORE of Harrison, 12 great-grandchildren Leilan and Abby WELLS, Jake and Jeni WYNN, Tyler and Haley BEAVER, Kylie Paul, Andrew, Luke, Daniel, Joshua and Nathaniel MCCORMICK; the mother of his four children, Sue JACKSON; two brothers, Clell BEAVER of Oklahoma City, OK and Harvey "Shorty" BEAVER of Yellville; two sisters, Mildred GRIFFIN of Yuba City, CA and Phyllis TREAT of Harrison, AR; and a host of friends who will mourn his passing and miss him dearly. Visitation was Friday, April 4, 2003 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Coffman Chapel. Services were held Saturday, April 5, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. at Coffman Chapel with Roy RAGLAND officiating. Burial was in Wilson Cemetery at Marshall, AR with Mike RAGLAND, Gene WILBURN Darrell HALSTED and Kenny HALSTED serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were Shawn and Tim BEAVER, grandsons and all other nephews. Arrangements were under the direction of Coffman Funeral Home in Harrison, Arkansas.

Mountaineer Echo Newspaper Week of April 10, 2003 issue: Charles H. MANHART of Yellville, Arkansas died Sunday, April 6, 2003 of natural causes at his home. He was 44. Mr. MANHART was born March 18, 1959 in Houston, Texas to Lewis and Ann STILL MANHART. On September 28, 1983, he married Dianne DAVIS MANHART. He was employed as a computer technician and member of the Mull Church of Christ. Survivors include his wife, Dianne MANHART of Yellville, AR; daughters, Chelsea MANHART of Yellville, AR and Katherine STAFFORD of Benton, AR; son, Jason MANHART of Yellville, AR; mother, Ann MANHART of Yellville, AR; brothers, Chris MANHART of Michigan and Fred MANHART of Nixa, MO; and sister, Paige ZANDER of Yellville, AR. His father, Lewis MANHART, preceded him in death. A memorial gathering was held Tuesday, April 08, 2003 at Burns Funeral Home in Yellville. Burial was private. Honorary pallbearers were J.R. She was 81. Mrs. MAJESTIC was born April 13, 1921 at Hammond, Indiana to John and Sophie GROBELANA CZLONKA. On June 14, 1941, she married John MAJESTIC. Survivors include her daughters, Barbara BELL of Highland, IN and Donna ZAERR of Yellville, AR; sister, Stella ARVAY of Calumet City, IL; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Her husband, John, preceded her in death. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 11, 2003 at St. Andrews the Apostle Church in Calumet City, IL. Mountaineer Echo Newspaper Week of April 17, 2003 issue: Scott Seely PATTERSON, 54, passed away suddenly on April 8, 2003 in Flippin, Arkansas with his wife at his side. Mr. PATTERSON was born on March 2, 1949, in Salt Lake City. He was the son of Alma T. PATTERSON and Chesla SEELY PATTERSON. Scott attended Lafayette Elementary, graduated from West High School and attended the University of Utah. He had three beautiful children Paula Ann, Heidi and Michael Scott. Scott joined the U.S. Air Force in 1974. He lived in Las Vegas, Germany, England, and Guam. In 1986, Scott married Maxine BEETSON in Guam. He loved the outdoors and had a great love for his family. Mr. PATTERSON is survived by his wife Maxine; his mother; three children and a step-daughter; three sister, Paula HANSEN and husband Kent of Cedar Falls, Iowa, Lucille BUSKEN and husband Page of Cincinnati, Ohio and Rebecca BRUBAKER and husband Scott of Salt Lake City, Utah. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, his father, his older brother, Thomas and an infant son. Patrick. Family and friends may call at the Anderson Funeral Home, 94 W. 300 N. Nephi, Utah. Judith has lived in the Midway area since 1997 moving from California. She was a member of the Church of Christ and was an avid gardener and enjoyed quilting. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Alva STANLEY, and one sister, Kathryn WHITNEY. Her father and her husband, J.T. JENKINS, preceded her in death. Mountaineer Echo Newspaper Week of May 1, 2003 issue: Alma PANNELL MELTON CHAPIN, 95, of Pyatt died April the 25, 2003 at the Hilltop Nursing Center in Harrison, Arkansas. She was the daughter of the late Oscar and Mary THOMPSON PANNELL and was born on July 21, 1907 in Pyatt, Arkansas. She was a lifetime resident of Pyatt. She was known as the Pyatt "Cookie Lady". She worked in a carnival, as a cook for the Pyatt School and at Mar-Bax Shirt Company until her retirement in the early 80's. She was a member of the Pyatt Church of Christ. This precious lady was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and a friend to all who knew her. She is survived by her son Bill and his wife Marie MELTON of Redding, California; nine grandchildren and their spouses, Sherry MELTON, Lois CURTIS, Bill MELTON, Ron YOUNG, Pam HOLDAL, Vickie MELTON-MILLER, Karen YOUNG, Joe HURST, and Jason HURST; numerous great-grandchildren, great great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers Elza and Welza PANNELL, her husband Ross and two children, Woody and Marie. Funeral services were held at 10:00 am, Wednesday, April 30, 2003 at Burns Funeral Home Chapel in Yellville with David WATTS officiating. Visitation was Tuesday, April the 29, 2003 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Burns Funeral Home in Yellville. Pallbearers were Donnie CURTIS, Shane CURTIS, Bryan CURTIS and Joe HURST. Honorary Pallbearers include Billy HARRIS, Tim HARRIS, Danny HARRIS, George KEYS Sr., George KEYS Jr., all the staff at Hilltop Nursing Center and Dr. Sam SCROGGINS. Interment was in the Patton Cemetery at Pyatt, Arkansas. Memorial may be made to the Pyatt Church of Christ.

Mountaineer Echo Newspaper Week of May 15, 2003 issue: A memorial service for Nancy G. FORREST NOVAK, 82, of Lakeview will be Sunday, May 18 at 2:00 p.m. at the Bull Shoals Presbyterian Church with Dr. Fred Taylor officiating. Mrs. NOVAK died Sunday, April 27, 2003 at Care Manor Nursing Home. She was born March 19, 1921 at Chicago, IL to Hans and Gertrude SCHULTZ SETT. She married Edwin FORREST on February 15, 1941 at Chicago, IL and was a homemaker. She married Raymond NOVAK on September 22, 1994 at Mountain Home, AR. Both husbands and her parents preceded her in death. Nancy was a member of Bull Shoals Presbyterian church and was active for 20 years as a volunteer for the Bull Shoals Food Pantry. She is survived by her son, Dennis Carl FORREST and his wife Judy of Dennis, MA; sister, Jean (Bill) LYON of Lakeview, AR; several beloved nieces and nephews; grandchildren, James and Thomas FORREST; and five great-grandchildren. Interment will be in Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery Scattering Gardens. Memorials may be made to the Bull Shoals Presbyterian Church. Arrangements are by Kirby-Boaz Funeral Directors. Mountaineer Echo Newspaper Week of May 1, 2003 issue: Leon L. "Wag" WAGONER of Flippin, Arkansas died Monday, April 28, 2003 at his residence. He was 64. Mr. WAGONER was born February 3, 1939 to Ward Owen and Mildred Lorene FREEMAN WAGONER at DeSoto Springs, Arkansas. Mr. WAGONER was a retired computer machinist who worked with Baxter Lab for 28 years. He was a lifetime resident of Marion County, a 20 year member of Fraternal Order of Eagles in Midway, member of National Rifle Association, North American Fishing Club and National Freshwater Fishing Hall of Fame. He also served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He married Willa May COBB on September 23, 1989. Survivors include his wife, Willa May WAGONER of Flippin, AR; daughters, Tammy Lynn WAGONER of Fairview, AR and Carrie Alice WAGONER of Bentonville, AR; step-daughters, Sandy TRIVO of Richmond, VA, Annette SHOCKEY and husband, Rodney of Isabella, MO and Bonnie BAKER of Gassville, AR; step-sons, Bobby G. BAKER of Yakima, WA and Sammy Lee JONES of Ketchikan, AK; brothers, Eldawan "Sug" WAGONER and wife, Beverly of Flippin, AR, Jimmy Ward WAGONER and wife, Carolyn Sue of Flippin, AR and Mickey Lynn WAGONER and wife, Sandra Lee of Flippin, AR; sisters, Catherine Sue FOLEY and husband, Patrick of Essex, IL and Tina Marcelle WAGONER of Little Rock, AR; grandchildren, Cody Michael BAKER, Blake ROATH, Austin ROATH and Hunter ROATH; and 11 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation will be held Thursday, May 1, 2003 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Burns Funeral Home in Yellville. Funeral services will be held Friday, May 2, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. at Pleasant Ridge Church in Yellville, Arkansas with Pastor Don BRYANT officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery with Rodney SHOCKEY, Gary CRANFIELD, Jim TUDOR, Butch STILL, Herman HOLLAWAY and Raymond BENNETT serving as pallbearers. Mountaineer Echo Newspaper Week of May 1, 2003 issue: Georgia WOOD of Yellville, Arkansas died Monday, April 28, 2003 at Baxter Regional Medical Center in Mountain Home, Arkansas. She was 81. Mrs. WOOD was born October 23, 1921 to Gattie and Nancy REED KEETER at the Greasy Creek Community south of Yellville. Mrs. WOOD was a retired first grade school teacher who taught for 32 years at Yellville and Flippin and also in a one-room schoolhouse. She was a member of the Main Street Church of Christ of Yellville, member of the Eastern Star, member of the Delta Kappa Gamma and member of the Mountain Home Business and Professional Organization. Survivors include her daughters, Lyla CRAWFORD and husband Donnie of Flippin, AR and Cindy YOUNG of Mountain Home, AR; son, Lou WOOD and wife Janet of Flippin, AR; brothers, Bill KEETER and wife Fannie of Yellville, AR and Bob KEETER and wife Diane of Springfield, MO; sisters, Johnnie Faye MELTON of Pyatt, AR, Betty DENTON of McGheee, AR and Frankie HARRIS and husband Don of Seattle, WA; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Visitation was held Wednesday, April 30, 2003 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Burns Funeral Home in Yellville.
