Marion Co TOC

These pictures were pictures that Priscilla Bawcom Cowdrey and Rufus P. Cowdrey had with their family pictures. These pictures could have once belonged to Priscilla's parents, Mary Jane (Tabor) and David Bawcom as Priscilla did have the majority of the family pictures since Mary Jane was living with Priscilla at the time of her death in 1933. Mary Jane Tabor was the daughter of John H. Tabor and Elizabeth Magness.

David B. Bawcom moved to Marion County about 1845. His parents, Josiah C. and Priscilla B. (Tuttle) Bawcom, moved to Grimes County, Texas approximately 1858, but David came back to Marion County prior to 1861 when he married Mary Jane Tabor. Priscilla and Rufus Cowdrey were both born and reared in Marion County. They married 25 December 1898 and moved three or four years later, along with her parents, to Texas. I first saw these photos at the home of Viva Cowdrey Davis, the daughter of Priscilla and Rufus, approximately fifteen years ago. Viva Cowdrey Davis' son has them now.
