KOREA WILLIAMS CHARLEY LOUIS 12 20 1931 11 7 2007 CASTEEL OBIT Mr. Charley Louis "Mike" Williams, age 75, of Forrest City, died Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2007, at Crittenden Memorial Hospital. Mr. Williams was born Dec. 20, 1931, in Forrest City. He was a painter at Yale Hoist and a veteran of the Korean War. He is survived by his wife, Corine Williams of Forrest City; nine daughters, Viann Sanders of Flint, Mich., Tella McFadden of Eudora, Carolyn Williams, Niyosha Williams and Lesley Green all of Forrest City, Millicent Williams and Annie Kinsey, both of San Antonio, Texas, Angela Mays of Stockton, Calif., and Faye Gaines of Marianna. He is also survived by two brothers, Verlon Williams of Rochester, N.Y. and Sylvester Williams of Cleveland, Ohio; four sisters, Lorece Withers and Vickie Williams both of Cleveland, Ohio and Mae Catherine Harris and Yvonne Williams both of Forrest City; 20 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Visitation for Mr. Williams will be held on Friday, Nov. 16, 2007, from 1 to 5 p.m. at Clay Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Nov. 17, 2007, at 10 a.m. at the United Christin M.B. Church with Rev. William Gay officiating. Burial will follow in CASTEEL.Published: 2007-11-15

WILLIAMS DAISY UNK 9 1905 UNKNOWN OBIT The Forrest City Times. Sept. 15, 1905. A Frightful Tragedy. Sam Burroughs, a furniture salesman, shot and killed Daisy Williams and seriously injured William Elder of Jonesboro a few days ago. After shooting the other two Burroughs turned the pistol on himself, blowing his brains out. When the shooting took place no one else was present and the immediate causes of the crime are not known. Burroughs had been drinking heavily and this is supposed to be the foundation of the terrible affair. Attentions to the WilliamsWomen by other men had aroused Burroughs anger, but he and Elder were supposed to be on friendly terms. The shooting and suicide are undoubtedly due to temporary insanity caused by excessive drinking.

His mental tribulation upon finding this result can be understood when it was his marriage license in the coat authorizing his marriage to Miss Lula Speer of L'Anguille township. After an energetic chase, Price was found and garments exchanged. The wedding took place as planned in the home of the bride's father, J.L.Speer.12-27-1895

WAINWRIGHT 1841 7 16 1900 Tennessee OBIT FORREST CITY TIMES-7-20-1900 Death of Mrs.R.J.Williams-Mrs.Sallie Wainwright Williams, wife of Hon.Rufus J.Williams, died at the family residence in this city, Monday night, Jul.16,1900, at 11 p.m., at the age of 59 years, after a painful and distressing illness of nearly three weeks. The remains were prepared for burial by Messrs.Stevens Bros., funeral directors, and were lying in state during the day, Tuesday. Sorrowing friends and relatives surrounded the bereaved members of the family to console them and offer sincere sympathy, besides a large number who visited the residence during the afternoon to take a last sorrowing look at the beloved features of the dead and pay the last tribute of respect and esteem. On Wednesday morning the remains were followed in sad procession to the east bound Choctaw train, which conveyed them to Somerville, Tenn., the birthplace of Mrs.Williams, for interment in the Wainwright burial ground, accompanied by the heart broken husband and two daughters, Misses Lucy and Annie Elise, and other relatives. She was a prominent member of the Methodist church.

Mr. Williamson was born Aug. 17, 1952, in Hughes and was the son of J.D. Williamson and Georgia Morgan Williamson. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Jean Williamson of Forrest City; five daughters, Folria Mason, Gloria White, Diane Williamson and Brittany Williamson, all of Forrest City, and Shantel Williamson Pitts of Widener; three sons, Jessie Gen Williamson Jr., Rodgrick Williamson and Nathaniel Williamson, all of Forrest City; seven sisters, Delorse Mucherson, Josephine Brown, Racheal Williamson, Schres Brown, April Williamson and Maple Brown, all of Forrest City and Easter Payton of Jonesboro; a stepmother, Ollie Mae Williamson of Hughes and nine grandchildren. Visitation for Mr. Williamson will be Friday, June 8, 2001, from 10:30 a.m to 5 p.m. in the chapel of Woodhouse Mortuary. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 9, 2001, at 1 p.m. at Days Temple Church of God in Christ with Elder John Jennings officiating. Burial will follow in Madison Cemetery under the direction of Woodhouse Mortuary.

Mr. Williford was born Aug. 15, 1940 and was a retired attendant with Hutcherson Flying Service.Mr. Williford is survived by his wife, Tonya Williford of Forrest City; six sons, Thomas Edward Williford Jr., James Williford, Jasper Williford, Malcolm Williford and Desmond Williford, all of Forrest City and Rodney Williford of Burleson, Texas; and three daughters, Alice Williford, Vera Williford and Daisha Williford, all of Forrest City. He is also survived by two brothers, Allen Williford of San Bernardino, Calif. and Willie Williford of St. Louis, Mo.; five sisters, Elrena Lewis and Odessa Goodwin both of Forrest City, Ollie Lee Hudson and Macola Hayes both of St. Louis, Mo. and Almenda Williford of Florrisant, Mo.; and three grandchildren.Visitation for Mr. Williford will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2004, from 1 to 5 p.m. at Clay Funeral Home. WILLIS E. L. DR. NA FCTIMES The annual pilgrimage to Mud Lake presided over by Capt.Geo.B.Mallory was undertaken with the following guests:J.S. and A. Youmans of Ohio;Dr.E.L.Willis of Newport;Capt.J.E.Richards, John and Wes Richards, Joe Rogers, Dr.E.A.Long, J.H.Tipton,M.N.Grimes, Ed Landvoight, S.P.McDaniel, H.M.Aven, John Pickens, Dan Wylds, Jack Pipkins, Fred Prewett, and P.Garner of St.Francis county. Some went bear hunting, while the others duck hunting. The bear hunters however could only find a couple of wild cats for their time, even though they went out every day. The duck and turkey hunters were simply successful, with over 300 ducks, and quite a number of wild turkeys-Mr.J.S.Youmans killing the most turkeys, and Mr.S.P.McDaniel the most ducks, but it is whispered that he shot at least six that another hunter had strung up a tree! 11-22-1901
