AKIN, 87, died Wednesday January 12, 1972 In Norman, Cleveland, Co, OK - in Norman Municipal Hospital. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Mayes Funeral Home with burial in Resthaven Cemetary. AKIN was born in Marion Co., Arkansas, moved to Oklahoma City in 1914 and to Norman in 1945. He was a retired farmer and a member of Westside Church of Christ. Survivors include a son, Floyd, 1909 Graham, Oklahoma City; two daughters, Mrs. Nell PENNINGTON, 2635 N.W. 13, Oklahoma City; and Mrs. Mildred TRAD, 2705 N.W. 19, Oklahoma City; two brothers, W. MAXEY, 81, of Yellville, died Wednesday, Oct. 25 in the Marion County Hospital after a long illness. Mrs. MAXEY had been a lifelong resident of Marion County. She was born at Rea Valley on Feb. 7, 1891, the daughter of James Monroe and Rosy Ann (HILL) [sic, should say HALL] TREAT. She married Samuel MAXEY Feb. 14, 1909. Survivors include two sons, Arvil MAXEY of Yellville, and Harve MAXEY of Yakima, WA.; three daughters, Mrs. James CASEY and Mrs. Bob NASH, both of Yellville, and Mrs. Frank SMITH of Siloam Springs; and a sister, Mrs. Quince OTT of Yellville. Mrs. MAXEY was a member of the Assembly of God Church. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Oct. 27 at the Assembly of God Church in Yellville with the Rev. J. C. BOLIN of Kansas City, Mo., officiating. Burial was held in the Layton Cemetery. Pallbearers were Alfred HALL, Herbert OTT, J. B. OTT, Mike NASH, Paul BECK and Ricky CASEY.

A life long resident of Arkansas, Mrs. TREAT was born March 13, 1889 at Alma, AR, to Charles A. and Sarah (ROLLAND) SPEER. She married William W. TREAT in 1903. Mr. TREAT is deceased. She was a member of the Flippin Christian Church. Survivors are four daughters and three sons, Mrs. Ruby Ann WILLIAMS, Mrs. Elsie WOOD and Mrs. Obetia HUDDLESTON of Flippin; Beatrice BERG, Leavenworth, KS; Sheppard TREAT, Cowiche, WA; Shelby TREAT, Yellville, and Jay L. TREAT, Iola, KS; 23 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 13 at the Flippin Christian Church with Kyle JEFFERSON and Robert TROSPER officiating. Pallbearers were Charles HUDDLESTON, Donald TREAT, Bobby TREAT, Leamon WILLIAMS, Doyne TREAT and Buddy BERG. Born in Marion County, Ark., she lived here 20 years. She was the widow of Dan NEAL, who passed away in 1971. Surviving are three sons, Owen Eugene LEWIS, Kansas City; Walter Eugene LEWIS, Kansas City, and Dale Burton LEWIS, Sault Saint Marie, Mich.; a daughter, Mrs. Eska GRANTZ, of Kansas City; a brother, Rev. W.E. HAND, Crossett, Ark.; two sisters, Mrs. Libby DEAN, Yellville, Ark., and Mrs. Ruby CAMPBELL, Harrison, Ark.; sixteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Fulton-Nickel Funeral Home. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery. Friends may call after 3 p.m. Tuesday. **NOTE Florence Beatrice Hand Neal was the daughter of John Hugh HAND and Lillie GENTRY HAND. She was born near Rush, Arkansas and lived in the Yellville area during her early years.

McCUTCHON [sic], Columbia, Mo., Marie OWENS, Flippin, Ark., and Delbert [sic] WAINWRIGHT, Canadian, Texas; two sons, Silas D. HALL, Arlington, Texas, and Marvin HALL, Defiance, Ohio; three brothers, Pond MURPHY, Jerseyville, Ill., Dewey MURPHY, Drumwright, Okla., and Ellis MURPHY, Whittier, Calif.; three sisters, Nora BLEVINS, Flippin, Ark., Una JOHNSON, Omaha, Nebr., and Bessie RAMSEY, Shell Knob, Mo.; 18 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. Hattie STICE Services Held At Summit Hattie E. STICE, age 88, passed away at the Marion County Hospital on January 15, 1973. Mrs. STICE was born on June 29, 1884 to Sam and Nancy (TAYLOR) FORD in Summit, Arkansas. She was a member of the Summit Baptist Church and had lived in Marion County all her life. Her survivors are two daughters, Eva Mae DOVER, Bentonville; Ora CONLEY, Summit; one brother, Henry FORD, Gravois Mills, Mo.; three sisters, Virgie WILLIAMS, Phoenix, Ariz.; Ruby DAVIS, Independence, Mo.; Edith JOHNSON, Summit; 14 grandchildren and 38 great grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the Summit Baptist Church on Wednesday, January 17, 1973 with Dick Hurst and Roy Dunn officiating. Burial was in the Mt. View Cemetery.

He was born Dec 20, 1916, at Flippin to Edward B and Kate (HALL) PARNELL. He was a Veteran of Foreign Wars. Survivors are two brothers, C B PARNELL and Ratio PARNELL, both of Tulsa, Okla.; two sisters, Mrs Beatrice GILLILAND, Wichita, Kans., and Mrs Bernice WOOTON, Conway. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Friday, Jan 19 in the Flippin Christian Church with Rev Robert TROSPER and Rev Hugh MAY officiating. Burial was in the Flippin Cemetery. Pallbearers were Norman BRIGGS, Jackie GILLILAND, Jim ELLIS, Lucian WOOD, Loyne HURST, and A G JOHNSON.

Rev E L DUNN and Rev Scott WESTERFIELD officiated. Interment was in Zillah Cemtery. Mr TREAT was born Nov 13, 1882, in Marion County, Ark. He had been a valley resident for the past five years and was a retired general farmer. He is survived by three sons, James A TREAT of Yakima, Wash., John E TREAT of Kansas City, MO, and Robert K TREAT of Zillah, Wash., two daughters, Mrs Mary RORIE of Yakima and Mrs Elva TILLEY of Bull Shoals, 10 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
