She was a truly content being a homemaker and was happiest when her hands were busy. Her shelves were full of her home canned fruits and vegetables and she found great satisfaction in hand stitching samplers and crocheting doilies, afghans, and piecing quilts. She invested her life in the lives of her children and served in the PTA at Conlee Elementary School and Lynn Middle School and baked countless cupcakes for students as a part of her role as classroom mother. She was very willing to put the interest and concerns of her children above her own. She also served her church family by teaching children's Sunday school classes and working in women's ministries. Country Gospel music was a great source of inspiration and enjoyment for her.
