Mountaineer Echo Newspaper Week of February 10, 2005 issue: William SHAW of Everton, Arkansas died Sunday, February 6, 2005 at the North Arkansas Regional Medical Center in Harrison, Arkansas. He was 76 years old. Mr. SHAW was born August 4, 1928 at Miami, Arizona to William Lewis and Clemmie Eugenia ANDERSON SHAW. he was married on January 31, 1948. He was a retired extruder operator for Baxter Laboratories in Mountain Home, Arkansas. Survivors include his wife; three sons and thire wives; one daughter, her and husband; one brother and his wife; 14 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. His parents and sister, Dixie Juanita SHAW ESTES, preceded him in death. Visitation was held Wednesday, February 9, 2005 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Burns Funeral Home in Yellville, AR. Funeral service will be Thursday, February 10, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at the Anderson Flat Community Building with Reverend Doug Huskey officiating. Burial will be in the Anderson Flat Cemetery with pallbearers and honorary pallbearer. Memorials may be made to the Arkansas Children's Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas. Mountaineer Echo Newspaper Week of February 17, 2005 issue: Charles D. THRASHER of Yellville, Arkansas died Wednesday, February 9, 2005 at Baxter Regional Medical Center in Mountain Home, Arkansas. He was 62 years old. Mr. THRASHER was born December 11, 1942 at Claremore, Oklahoma to Harold and Clemmie FISHER THRASHER. Mr. THRASHER was a disabled veteran of the United State Army who served in the Viet Nam War. He was a U. S. Army Ranger, a mem- Chapter 36 and the VFW Post 1341. He was a native American Indian and was a member of the Cherokee Nation. Survivors include his three daughters; one brother; and two grandchildren. His parents preceded him in death. Mountaineer Echo Newspaper Week of February 17, 2005 issue: Bernece JEFFERSON of Yellville, Arkansas died Thursday, February 10, 2005 at the Marion County Nursing Home in Yellville, Arkansas. She was 92 years old. Mrs. JEFFERSON was born August 16, 1912 at Brownsville, Texas to Amos Harrison and Daisy DOSHIER COWAN. On March 2, 1928, she married the late Lester JEFFERSON. Mrs. JEFFERSON was a housewife, lifetime resident of Marion County, Arkansas and member of the Yellville First Baptist Church. Survivors include her one son; two daughters; 12 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. Her parents; husband, Lester JEFFERSON; daughter, Elena JENKINS; brother, Abe and two sisters, Arlene OTT and Leta PETTY, preceded her in death. Visitation was held Saturday, February 12, 2005 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Burns Funeral Home in Yellville. Funeral Service was held Sunday, February 13, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at Yellville First Baptist Church with five of her grandsons officiating. Burial followed in the Layton Cemetery in Yellville, Arkansas with her grandson serving as pallbearers and with honorary pallbearers. Memorials may be made to the Yellville First Baptist Church. Mountaineer Echo Newspaper Week of February 17, 2005 issue: Danny William TABOR, 32, of Harmon, AR, died February 12, 2005 from injuries in an auto accident after visiting his 4-day-old son who is currently in the newborn intensive care unit at Cox South Hospital. Survivors include his girlfriend; his son; and his mother and step-father; one brother and his wife; his grandparents; two nephews and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Roma TABOR. A memorial service is planned for a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in the Noah Tabor Survival Fund at P. O. Mrs. MADDEN was born March 12, 1928 at Cozahome, Arkansas to James O. and Rosa Belle HUMPHREY AVEY. On March 29, 1948 she married Bill MADDEN. She was a retired retailer and restaurant owner and member of the First Baptist Church in Yellville. Survivors include her two sons and their wives; one daughter; one brother; two sister; eight grandchildren: and eight great-grandchildren. Her husband, Bill; five brothers, John, Leo, Gene, Tommy, and Jim; two sisters Edith and Vardie; and one grandchild, Brandy MADDEN preceded her in death. Visitation was held Wednesday, February 16, 2005 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Yellville, AR. Funeral service will be held Thursday, February 17, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Yellville, Arkansas with pallbearers and honorary pallbearers. Mountaineer Echo Newspaper Week of February 17, 2005 issue: Earl Richard "Bud" CENTER of the Pine Mountain Community of Yellville, Arkansas died Sunday, February 13, 2005 in Yellville. He was 71 years old. Mr. CENTER was born December 12, 1933 at Colfax, Illinois to Earl Joseph and Ethel Belle PIRTLE CENTER. He was the owner and operator of the Mountain Hideaway Mini Storage and the former Mountain Hideaway Store. Mr. CENTER was a veteran of the United Sates Navy. He was a founding member of the Pine Mountain Volunteer Fire Department, was involved in many improvements to the Pine Mountain Community as well as being instrumental in installation of a helipad at Pine Mountain. He was a member of the American Legion and attended the First Baptist Church. Survivors include one son and his wife; one daughter and her husband; one brother; one sister; and three grandchildren. Visitation was held Wednesday, February 16, 2005 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Burns Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral service will be Thursday, February 17, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at Burns Funeral Home Chapel in Yellville with Brother William Reed Officiating. Formerly of Springfield, Colorado, she was a resident of Marion County for one month. Survivors include her husband; one son; five daughters; two sisters; 19 grandchildren; and 18 great grandchildren. Her parents; two sons, Donnie and Bobby THOMAS; and two sisters, Patty ZAMORA and Lois NORWOOD preceded her in death. ROOK was a member of the Shover Springs Baptist Church in Shover Springs, AR, a Police Explorer, an Eagle Scout and a member of the Civil War reenactments. Survivors include his mother; maternal grandmother; three uncles; one aunt; a special friend; and a number of cousins. The family received friends on Monday, February 21, 2005 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home in Hope, AR. Mountaineer Echo Newspaper Week of March 3, 2005 issue: Bill SETZER, age 75 of Fort Jones, California died Sunday February 20, 2005. He was born July 22, 1929 in Rush, Arkansas to Harve and Roka Bell (BEAVERS) SETZER. Mr. SETZER served in the US Air Force from March 7, 1952 until June 15, 1954. He was married on June 5, 1955 and settled in northern California where he worked in lumber and ranching until he retired. He is survived by his wife of the home and two sons; two daughters; twelve grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and two sisters. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Pete, Sam, Hoyt, Charles, Carl and Paul and two sisters Juanita DAWS and Martha PENIGREE. Graveside services were held Thursday, February 24, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at Fort Jones Cemetery.

Mountaineer Echo Newspaper Week of March 24, 2005 issue: Jackson "Jack" WICKERSHAM, 65, formerly of Yellville, Arkansas passed away at his home in Onaway, Michigan on February 26, 2005. He was Born November 21, 1939, to George Vernon "Doby" WICKERSHAM and Ella Leona STILL WICKERSHAM. Mr. WICKERSHAM was a retired professional artist and cook. He had lived the last few years in Onaway with his extended family. They were with him at the time of his death. He is survived by two sisters; two brothers; three nephews; five nieces; several great nieces and nephews; and numerous cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, "Body" and Leona WICKERSHAM. Services were under the direction of Chagnon Funeral Home in Onaway. Mr. WICKERSHAM was cremated.
