The John Harvey and Samuel STEPHENS family (PA>ILL>AR) was here around 1850. Josiah Coleman GOODEN was born in AR in 1852. Joseph Erwin HALBROOK and family arrived early 1850's from TN. KIDDs TN>AR, McCAMEY GA>TN>AR and SHANNONs SC>GA>AR arrived mid to late 1860's. I have little information on the DUNCANs and would appreciate any help. Andrew Jackson HOLLOWAY came down from MO about 1865-70. I am happy to share any data that I have and would love to hear from any interested in these families.

Query: I am looking for the parents of Will b.1848, George b.1859(?), and James Arnold b.1861. They were from Choctaw, Ark. area. The parents were buried in a cemetery that was covered by a lake. Their father was killed during the Civil War. A man named Pitts Bennett came in and took over running the farm. He is possibly a relative (maybe mother's brother). Pitts Bennett was never married. He took in a baby girl and raised her. Will married that girl. Family says that they were Cherokee, including Pitts Bennett and the girl.

She was traveling in horse and wagon to a TB Sanitorium with her husband David and their small children. I believe that David had family in Clinton and that is why he stopped there. He did have a brother Milton that lived in the area. Alice is supposed to be buried on NIXON'S MOUNTAIN, which I suspect lies between Clinton and Marshall. David took his family back home to Missouri, after Alice died. Any information at all on this event, or the mountain would be very appreciated.
