Additional Information: I just got this obit on Rosie Jane (STEWARD)BROCK and would like some help with two sisters that are listed surviving her. I have an Early STEWARD born about 1904 on my family tree. Can someone confirm this is the Earlene Butler listed in the obit? Also, the Frances Stanford listed; I do not have a Frances listed as a sister. Any insight? I tried emailing John Steward, but it came back to me. Thank you Sherman Democrat Nov 24, 1968 Mrs. Rosie Jane Brock Collinsville--Services will be at 2:30 Sunday at the Baptist church for Mrs. Rosie Jane Brock, 87, who died Friday enroute to a hospital. Burial will be in Collinsville cemetery, with grandsons as pallbearers and Richard Funeral Home in charge. She was a member of the Baptist church. Surviving are a son, Floyd Brock of Whitesboro; four daughters, Mrs. Pauline Armstrong and Mrs. J. Z. Ramsey, both of Collinsville, Mrs. Artha Williams of Marlow, Okla., and Mrs. Eura Cook of Amarillo; three brothers, Ed Steward of Sadler, A. J. Steward of Texarkana and Bryce Steward of Dallas; two sisters, Mrs, Frances Stanford of Waxahachie and Mrs. Earlene Butler of Dallas; 15 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.

Additional Information: I am tring to find what happened to John Powell, bn. 1775-80 and wife Mary. he is listed on the 1837,38 tax list for Van Buren Co. also his 2 sons that are listed. one my GGGgrandfather William Austin Powell spelled Osten, on tax list for 1839 and on 1840 census. and brother Josiah Powell on 1840 census. Austin md. Mary Ann Roden or Rodden. don't know who her family was. would like to hear from any Rodens from Van buren Co. I found a John Powell on the 1840 Carroll Co. Ar census that fits the age of this John and wife Mary. but don't know how close Van Buren Co. and Carroll Co. are. from each other. my John Powell was the son of Ambrose Powell who died in 1827 in Maury Co. Tn. John is listed on the probate for Ambrose Powell as exectutor. and in the document it said John Powell lived in Hickman Co. Tn. he is listed there in 1820 and 1830 also civil war records say Josiah and Austin were born in Hickman Co. Tn. also pension papers. in 1850 Josiah and Austin are in Ozark, Ar. Franklin Co. John's wife Mary was living with my Wm. Austin on 1860 Franklin Co. Ar.census. my uncle is the County Judge for Franklin Co. Ar. and still resides on the land that William Austin Powell Homesteaded after the Civil War. are there any older records for Van Buren Co. not on this website. that go back that far. need help. thank you Sheryl Patterson jimsheryl@cox.net
