I am looking for info on the family of Nixon (NIX) HADLOCK. He was born abt. 1828, probably in Ark. In 1850 he was living in Perry Co. with Jenny HADLOCK, possibly his mother, she was 58 and he was 22. In 1860 he was living at Bently TWSP., Perry Co. His wife was Melissa HOLFORD, Who was 18. In 1870 he lived at Pettite Jean, Perry Co. with wife Sarah J. They had 3 children James D.9, Anderson 2, and Martha E.3mo. Sarah J. had 3 children from other marriage, Mary A. 16, Lauri E. 14, and William D. 6. Their last name was CROWDER. In 1880 they had moved to Conway Co. I would like to find more information about an Isaac CROW that was listed in the 1860 Federal Arkansas Census, Perry County, Bently Township, Perryville P.O., p. 235 and an Eli CROW that lived nearby. I am trying to prove if these two young men b. in TN are the son's of Isaac CROW of Carroll Co., TN.

My family is trying to trace our line and have run into a number of stumbling blocks finding information on the members of the family listed below. L: EMMONS Allen # 235 T: Bently Township E520; L: EMMONS John # 233 T: Bently Township E520 1860 Conway Co, ARK; EMMONS Johnathan # 449 T: Welborn Township E520 1860 Pope Co,ARK; L: EMMONS John # 818 T: Allen Township E520; L: EMMONS Judy # 817 T: Allen Township E520. I am trying to locate someone who might abstract this information for me out of the 1860 ARK Census. Do you know anyone who has access to the 1860 Census for Pope/Perry/Conway Co, ARK that might check it out for me. I'd be more than glad to pay them for the look up, postage and expenses. I have also located a couple other EMMONS households in the 1860 ARK Census index in Pope and Conway Co, ARK. Would also need looked. The Jonathon & John EMMONS are the most wanted ones. They are names f requently used in my line of EMMONS in Floyd/Clark Co, IN. I'd be more than glad to do exchange research in IN or KY preferably Southern IN. But can do some research in KY. I am researching the surnames of MEESE, LEE/LEA, NELSON, WOMACK, TALLEY, PRUITT/PRUETT, and COTHERN in Perry County, AR. Herman MEESE and Nancy LEE (m. 1915) were my grandparents. Herman is the son of Charles MEESE who is the son of German imigrant Philip MEESE. Charles married Lydia Dara WOMACK, whom I believe was the daughter of James WOMACK. Nancy LEE is the daughter of Nineon LEE/LEA and Melissa NELSON (who was later TALLEY and then PRUETT/PRUITT). Melissa had a sister named Almer (sp?) who married Joe COTHERN. All of my line lived around "Toadsuck", "Meese Bend", Houston, and Perryville AR. I would love to exchange info on any of these names. Thanks, Cathy Stanfield

Am looking for parents of Joseph "Joe" MILES (1863-1902). Joe lived in Lower Lafave in 1900. He died in 1902 and was buried there. Married to Matilda CROOK about 1884. Children were James S. MILES, William A. MILES, Lula D. MILES, Lee H. MILES, Dewey MILES, and Vanz MILES. Think he may be related to Joseph B. MILES of Dardenelle, but haven't made the connection yet.

I have been searching for several years with no luck. Am seeking info on POSEY family located in Perry Co. My g-gfather was James Riley POSEY b. 1877, Perry Co., AR. He married Norah May WEDDELL in Perry Co Dec 1899. His father was W. R. ( William Riley, Will, Bill) POSEY, b ca 1842-46, Perry Co. Ar. W.R. POSEY was listed on 1870 Perry Co census w/wife Elizabeth ??b ca 1843 in Tennessee, dau Martha b 1870, mother, Margaret b ca 1825 in Mississippi and W. R.'s bros and sisters Newton b. ca 1852, Mary J b.ca 1854, James b. ca 1858, Evilence b ca 1861, and Sarah b ca 1864 all born in Arkansas. I believe Margaret's husband and W. R.'s father was Henry POSEY. Margaret was listed on the 1860 AR census as head of household, yet she had two children born after this. W. R. was married again in 1890 to Mary Etta MORRIS in Conway Co., AR. I believe he died ca 1895. He was also listed on the 1880 census living w/ the PORTER's. Emma Lee PORTER married Thomas Riley POSEY in 1896. Not sure if he is a brother or a cousin. Listed on 1870 Perry Co census w/wife Elizabeth ?? b. ca 1843, Tenn., dau Martha, 2 mos., his mother Margaret b. ca 1825, Miss and his brothers and sisters Newton, b ca 1852, Mary J b ca 1854, James b ca. 1858, Evilence, b ca. 1861 and Sarah b ca. 1864. He was listed on 1880 census living w/ PORTER family. I believe Margaret's husband was Henry POSEY. Would like any info on any of these family members. Especially any additional children. William Riley is my g-grandather, James Riley POSEY b 1877, Perry Co. father. James Riley married Norah May WEDDELL in 1899 in Alma, AR. She is daughter of Daniel WEDDELL, also of Perry Co. Family stories say that there were 12 orphans of William Riley's family. Would like info on mother Elizabeth. I believe that the PORTER's of Perry Co raised some of the children and Thomas Riley POSEY married Emma Lee PORTER in Perry Co. William Riley's second wife was Mary Etta MORRIS, they married 1890 in Conway Co. I believe he died ca 1895. They had one son, that I know of, Charles Radford POSEY. This family resided in Perry Co., Ar for over 50 years and I have been unable to find any additional info for several years. Looking for information on my father Hershel ALLEN. He and my mother were divorced when I was very young and as my mother is deceased I have no information available to me about him. I am trying to find any information on him as he remarried twice and I have 2 sisters and 2 brothers somewhere, whom I would very much like to locate. He is the son of James and Edna ALLEN. DOB is 12/24/1919. Not sure of exact place of birth but have been told he was born in and around Perry Arkansas, family also lived in Olin. Said to have their own cemetery in Perry area. James/Edna's other children are Josephine, Jesse. Shirley, Jean, Bill, Maudine, Charles. James worked for the Railroad, Edna cooked for the railroad.
