CRAWFORD, NOONER, TOWNSEND, WEAVER, YANDELL posted by Wanda Spegal on Sunday, January 30, 2000

Hello, I am searching for the following surnames in Perry County, AR. CRAWFORD, NOONER, WEAVER, and TOWNSEND. My GGGrandfather was Joseph CRAWFORD. His first marraige was to Isabella NOONER, and they had two children, James CRAWFORD born in 1868 and Martha E in 1870. I am not sure which county they were born in, possibly Perry Co. Isabella died in 1878, and I have not found another trace of the two children. Joseph remarried to my GGGrandmother, Martha Jane Turner NOONER, the widow of Elihu M NOONER. My GGrandmother was born in 1886 in Ava, Perry Co, AR. Her name was Ellen CRAWFORD. Ellen married James WEAVER, s/o James WEAVER and Margaret Ann TOWNSEND. They had three daughters, Ila b in 1906, Tava, b in 1808, and my Grandma, Addy WEAVER born in 1910. The three daughters were orphaned by abt 1916. Ellen died abt 1913 and James died in 1916, the victim of a dispute over a pig, as the story goes. My grandma and her sisters were raised by one of James' sisters, Mattie Weaver YANDELL, I think is the last name of Logan Co. I would love to hear from anyone who has knowledge of any member of these families. Joseph, Isabella, Martha, Elihu NOONER, Ellen and James are all buried in the Nooner Cemetary. The property that my GGrandparents owned was near Perryville. Thank you! Wanda Spegal wkss@theofficenet.com
