WHALEY posted by Quillen Whaley on Monday, May 12, 1997: I am looking for info about the WHALEY line. Jessie Monro WHALEY is believed to have been born in Perry Cty approx 1880's who later had children: Clarence C., Dolly, Maude, Marlon, Rosie, and Oma. I am at dead end. Any help would be great.

CARTER, HICKS, RANKIN posted by M. Sherlock on Friday, May 30, 1997: Need any info on CARTER surname. My grandfather James Brandon Carter was born in Houston on June 5, 1914. He married Mary Sue RANKIN also of Perry Co. on November 30, 1938 in Morrilton, Conway, AR. James, JB as he was called died in Morrilton on June 4, 1993. His father's name might have been Frank or Jim CARTER and this person died in 1939 in Perry County, most likely with his wife whose name was believed to be Mary HICKS. As far as I know the family had a big white house behind a Citco gas station in Houston which is next to the post office.

I need his parent's information. Secondly, I am doing research on the family of James Wiley BRUMLOW, also in Perry County. His wife's name is Mary HOOKS.

MORRIS, POSEY, SHARP posted by Beth Phelan on Saturday, June 7, 1997: Don't know how much you might be able to help me if any, but I am researching the POSEY family of Perry Co. I have been researching this family for several years and not been able to get much info. My g-g-grandfather was William Riley POSEY. His mother was Margaret ? and I believe his father was Henry POSEY. Henry was listed on the 1860 mortality schedule so therefore I have not been able to find Wm R with his father. Also, Wm R married lst Elizabeth ? and was listed on the 1870 census w/daughter Elizabeth. I believe she was my g-grandfather's (James Riley POSEY) mother but from what I have been told she died prior to 1880, so again I have not been able to find him with her on a census. Do you know if there was an orphans court? Wm R. was residing as a hired hand w/ W.W. and Storey SHARP on the 1880 census. He married again 1890 to Mary Etta MORRIS. WEST posted by Myra Chambers on Tuesday, July 8, 1997: I am looking for information regarding the descendants of Owen and Jane WEST. They lived in the West Log Cabin in Petite Jean Mtn. State Park, I understand from about the time it was built in 1843. Owen and Jane are buried in the Luthern Cemetery on the mountain. Their grandson, Walter WEST, was my maternal grandfather. I would like to find out where they originally came from. Also would like to know Jane's maiden name. Thanks, Myra Chambers

I am constructing her family tree but I do not have any dates or names of other members of her family.Would appreciate any info you could come up with. Also my grandfather James A HOWARD, who married Melvina WILLIAMS my G mother, had brothers and sisters which I can not locate either. They supposedly came from Birmingham, Alabama. Signed petition to Congress in Arkansas Co. in 1818. Died in the part of Perry Co., Ark. which was previously Conway Co. Believe he is buried in unmarked grave near old home place outside Houston, Ark. He left widow Sarah and two sons at home, Daniel 20, and Radford 17, in 1850 census of Perry Co. Sarah born 1802 in Tenn. What was her maiden name? Radford and wife Margaret (ELSBERRY) buried in Bland/Leach Cemetery located near Houston, Ark. Allied family names include HENDERSON, BRAZIL, and WESTLEY. Will exchange any information.

She is buried in Oakgrove Cemetery. I also have some information on PARKS, EDMONDSON, ANTELL, & WILLIAMS of Williams Junction all of Perry Co. I saw a page of stories concerning Perry Co history and family tales but have lost the url. I surely would like to have it again. Thanks for any help in finding Nancy's maiden name.
